what size treats would fit in this ball? any treat recommendations please?
Answer by ChewyOct 01, 2020
This toy is intended to be used with kibble and small treats. Training treats, specialty dog foods, and other hard goodies that average under 3/4 an inch in diameter.

How big is this?
Answer by ChewyFeb 24, 2020
This ball is 3 inches in diameter.

Does this ball have one hole or two? Is it hard plastic or soft !
Answer by ChewyNov 05, 2020
This treat dispenser ball has 2 holes, 1 main hole for treats to dispense and a smaller hole so there is no suction created. The ball is made of a firm rubber.

How much kibble would this approximately hold?
Answer by ChewySep 11, 2020
It's recommended to fill a portion of your dog's meal or treats in the ball.

buying more asap

My dogs are OBSESSED with this ball. So much so that the three of them stare at each other intently to find the moment when they can steal it from each other. I’m buying more now. The only con is that the hole where you are meant to insert the kibble/treats is rather small.

Kept my Corgi busy for long enough but NOT dishwasher safe

I "meal prep" for my pup by filling a bunch of puzzle feeders and balls ahead of time. This one is great after I fill it with kibble and smear peanut butter or wet food over the hole, then freeze it. The more space there is to roll around the ground, the farther he has to chase it to empty it, so I toss it in the backyard. Be aware it will NOT survive the dishwasher though!

Great toy for puppy

I got this toy for my whippet puppy. I put cheerios in it. He figured out that treats fall out when he rolls it. He gets very excited and it keeps him busy for about 5 minutes. Once the treats are gone he is done with the toy unless I throw it. He does chew it occasionally but it’s not his favorite chew toy. I do wish the treats didn’t fall out so easily but I still like the toy. Maybe a slightly bigger treat would be better to use. He’s on puppy food so I can’t use his food in it yet since it is small than the Cheerios. Great toy!

Not challenging enough

We have a 5 month old rough collie. We bought this to keep him occupied throughout the day while we are busy. I fill it up with with his kibble which is about 1/4 cup. He will have it gone in about 2 minutes. It does what it's supposed to but definitely not challenging enough. He barely has to move it for the kibble to fall out. We have also tried using different size treats and it still only takes him a couple of minutes to consume it all.

Inexpensive puzzle toy

I wanted a puzzle type toy for my new puppy and this was the least expensive one that I thought we would use long term. She loved it right away and chased it around gobbling up the treats that fell easily, but not too easily. When she isn’t motivated to eat her food I put it in the ball and roll it around for her. Puppy food falls out very quickly and is more entertaining for her than eating directly from her bowl.

Great to keep them occupied!

I got this for my 10 week old shepherd/spaniel puppy when he's very playful at 4am. He loves it! The downside is his kibble is pretty small (Nutro puppy) so usually multiple pieces will fall out at once so it doesn't last a super long time. Definitely keeps him occupied for a few minutes while I find motivation to be awake at 4am.

Not durable enough for me

I chew through everything. I like soft toys and chewy rubber things but i go through them in a matter of minutes. I chewed through this ball in 10 mins :-(

More than I exprected

This toy is just so simple and yet so much fun. I have a Shepperd who is very smart, and takes most treat toys apart to get the treats. This being one piece, and a rubber type material, works perfect. She loves it. The toy I wanted was not available. A representative suggested 3 toys, and my dog loves them all. I feel like chewy puts a little effort into knowing animals. and I appreciate that.

Good toy but

This treat ball is too easy to get the treats out of. Wish it was a little bit harder and more of a challenge for my dog. He loves playing with it as a regular ball though.

Lasts only minutes

There’s nothing about the design of this ball that makes it any more difficult to get the treats out of it. It took my dog less than 5 minutes of rolling it around; the description says “hours.” On the upside, she did like the texture of the ball and chewed on it (with supervision) for a while after the treats were gone.
