The Small brush measures 6.5 inches long and 2.625 inches wide. The Medium brush measures 6.25 inches long and 3.5 inches wide. The Large brush measures 6.375 inches long and 3 inches wide.
Does the tool have blades that cut the fur?

This tool does not have blades to cut/shave the fur.
Will this work for a German Shepherd and also do you have to stop and pull the hair out from the rake?

This grooming tool is suitable for dogs of all breeds that have shedding problems. To clean tool, hair will need to be removed manually from rake.

Easy and effective

My lab loves being brushed and this removes a remarkable amount of hair every time. Has really cut down on the indoor dog hair dust bunnies. Highly recommend!

Not particularly effective

I purchased this tool for a large smooth collie who sheds continuously. I have to brush her every day. Was looking for a new implement and read good reviews. I bought the size recommended for her, but it is quite small and does not cover as much area as other tools. Also, since it includes a blade, the directions note to use it "gently", so I am afraid I'll hurt her. Tried it a few times but does not do as good a job as the other tool I have - much smaller area covered with not much fur makes for a longer time she has to tolerate it. Not a good match.

This tool works well

This tool works very well to get the excess hair trimmed off your dog. If you follow the lines of the body and slowly and carefully brush with the grain, you cannot hurt or nick their skin. I have used it twice now on Gracie and she seems to enjoy it.
