How can you prevent it from growing mold?

To prevent this substrate from molding, it's recommended to have a bio-active clean up crew such as spring tails and isopods that help get rid of mold completely.

can I use this for hermit crabs

This substrate is not suitable for hermit crabs. It is best for hermit crabs to use coconut fiber or sand like substrate for their habitats.

how does this qts convert to gallons? for a 20 gal would i need two bags?

The Green Moss portion of this product is 1-quart, which converts to 0.25-gallons. The Coconut Husk Fiber portion of this product is 3-quarts, which converts to 0.75-gallons. The amount needed will depend on how thick you would like the flooring to be.

Siamese approved!

My Siamese cat loved it for a whole month! Which Siamese cats normally need high stimulation and get bored easily! I took it down for a bit so when I hang it up again- it will hopefully be as fun as when I bought it! Also I almost peed myself from laughing at how high she was jumping for this little pretend mouse!

This product claims to "keep soil soft and MOIST while providing nutrients to live plants" I purchased this for a venus fly trap terrarium after doing a lot of research on my Little Dude, this seemed like the perfect combination product to use as a planting medium and it would have a pleasant aesthetic feature when combined with a small LED aquarium (I also bought from chewy). For the first few days everything was going wonderfully-it looked beautiful!! I shared pictures in my Venus flytrap groups on Facebook and everybody was jealous. Until today... For the record- I have actually neglected it, it requires a lot of distilled water *only and I keep forgetting to buy some more- (I have a huskey pup, need I say more?)- So it's actually dryer then it should be!!! It wasn't dry enough to stop the mold though... Now I have to scramble and figure out what I'm going to do for my Little Dude... Venus fly traps very sensitive and each time they get disturbed it sends them into a shock that they may never recover from... I got lucky when I put it in this terrarium, I tried to make this plant as happy as possible when I transplanted it, now I have to think of something else that will make it happy & get it done before this mold kills my Little Dude. I dont I want a refund so I'm not going to send it back... I just want to let people know that if you use it in a humid environment- you will have mold!!!!
