Gravel is an important part to maintaining a healthy aquarium. Natural aggregate elements not only beautify your aquarium but will provide a surface of growth for beneficial bacteria. Beneficial bacteria growth is important as it aids in converting fish waste to non-toxic levels. Natural aggregates contain no polish or color finishes. Rinsing gravel to remove excess dust and dirt is recommended before use.
The stones had a waxy coating to them which was almost impossible to completely clean off. Do not recommend. I washed the stones multiple times and was still cleaning it out of the tank. The wax clang to my tank walls. Had to completely empty tank and restart. I ended up throwing rocks out. Very disappointed as they were beautiful
This product is not the same as in the picture! The picture is of a gravel often seen in the aquarium industry- a polished multi-colored gravel pebble. what Chewy delivered was a garden or lawn stone. It is not this color or grain size-- a very cheap substitute of the product they use to bait and switch with. Let the buyer beware.
The colors are better looking in person than in the picture...if thats possible! Very happy with my purchase.
A little smaller then we thought they were may want to add something about them being small in the disription
Using this as potting fill for a glass cactus, makes a great decoration.
This is a nice change from colored gravel. It makes for a more natural environment. The stones look polished when under water. A smaller amount is required to cover the bottom of the tank, making it a better value for me.
