are the pebbles neutral for water chemistry

The pebbles will not change the PH of the water but it is important to rinse them first as with this size of pebbles there could be pebble dust and you don't want to make your filter work harder than necessary.

Hole in the bag

Not sure why I always get the bags with holes in them. Pretty depressing. But you must absolutely wash these before adding them in your tank.

Worked Great For My Plants

I used this, not for my aquarium, but as a soil topper for my potted plants. The only downside is that you don’t know what size rocks they are.
