3) Lock all four webbings in place by feeding back through alloy triglide.

5) Place fitted harness on dog and position in car. Thread seat belt through both handles and click into buckle. Remove slack from seat belt.
Important: Do not over-tighten straps! When fitted correctly, harness should be snug, but two fingers should easily run between straps & dog.

Size
| Size | Girth |
|---|---|
| Small | 11-25 inches |
| Medium | 15-34 inches |
| Large | 19-42 inches |
For best fit measure the girth of the dog. This is the area behind the front legs and around the body. The neck will typically fall into place once girth is determined. If the measurement is close to the end of the size range, go up to the larger size.

I have a Great Dane. Will he be able to lie down with this restraint?
What were the test conditions? How fast was the car going?

I have tried everything to keep my rambunctious terrier in his seat He never would stay put until I purchased this harness It's been great and he cannot wiggle out of it I feel confident that he is safe if I should get in an accident. It fits him very well He weighs 20# and he wears a size small. I would highly recommended this harness if you want safety and comfort.
Excellent safety harness, likely best protection when dog is upright

I’m very happy with the EzyDog Drive Harness (purchased directly from manufacturer). It’s sturdy, well-made, and gives me confidence that my dog is secure. I use a small child’s mirror on my windshield so I can keep an eye on him during drives. The setup was easy, and the car’s seatbelt functions much like it does for a person, allowing a bit of movement, but locking in place with any sudden jerk. It also greatly reduces distraction by keeping him from trying to take his turn in the driver’s seat. I wasn’t able to confirm with published literature the exact position the crash-test subject was placed in during testing, but based on the physics of pressure distribution, I would hypothesize that the harness provides its best protection when the dog is upright and forward-facing which is inline with how its advertised. While it will still restrain your pup if they lie down or shift around, the force would likely distribute differently in that position (thus 4 stars). My dog has laid down and stepped out of position before, but with some training (Ted, get back in your seat, please), he mostly stays seated properly. I take frequent stops to let him stretch on longer trips, I can’t imagine it’s overly comfortable staying put, especially at 16 months (104.2 lbs.) with all that puppy energy. It’s a very good safety option overall, but worth understanding how positioning might affect real-world protection. It’s also worth noting that in my scenario an unrestrained 104-lb dog can turn into a 3,000 to 4,000 lb projectile in a 30-mph crash. Enough force to cause catastrophic injury to both my pup and any passengers. Even if the pup isn’t seated perfectly upright, being restrained in this harness is vastly safer than being loose in the vehicle.

Safest Harness When Used Properly

I've read other reviews of this harness, but some of the negative reviews did not use the harness correctly. This is made of a seatbelt webbing. It is wrapped around the dog and sewn down. When you use the seatbelt in the car and thread it through the loops on the back of the harness, it holds your dog as if they are wearing the seatbelt in the car. If stitching pops, or a buckle fails, they are still protected because the webbing around them is still solid and held safely by the car's seatbelt. Lumos sits in the front seat because my disability equipment goes in the back. I've had the passenger airbag shut off so it does not injure her. She is able to sit up and lay down in the front seat. We live in a college town, and the drivers around us are not the best. This seatbelt has saved Lumos from hitting the dash several times as I avoid accidents. We were rear ended and vet said she had little injuries beyond being sore because of this harness. I am so glad I spent to money on this harness. She goes with me everywhere and has even found ways to alert me for my disability while wearing the harness. It takes time, but it is worth it. You'll wish you had it when the worst happens.
Great material fits very nicely

A Waste of Money if You Have a Smart Dog

I bought 2 of these for a cross country trip with an 8-mo old Husky mix and a 2-yr old Rottweiler mix. I made sure both of the harnesses were on securely and snuggly. We'd gone about 4 hours when the puppy figured out that he could fold his shoulders inward and back out of it. I put his back on it, again checked that it was fitted right, and he promptly backed out if it again (think taking off a sweater without turning it inside out). After watching him do this 3 times in a row, my older dog learned how to do it as well. So I paid $250 plus tax for 4 hours of safety. I wish they had worked. Before you buy, consider how crafty your dog is.

The harness is easy to fit however the neck portion rides high on the dogs necks. Also they should include a LATCH and tether option. It is very hard to get our 2 dogs comfortable in the back seat and it is a work in progress. We know the dangers of an unrestrained pet and EZYDOG seems to be one of only a couple good choices. It isn't about containment it is about protection and this vest if used properly will check the boxes.
