We have an 80 lb rescue who was semi-leased trained, but became really unmanageable if he decided to start pulling. My grip strength was just not enough with a normal leash to feel comfortable walking him (he got plenty of exercise in our large yard). This purchase has completely changed our life over the last 6 months. The clip is strong enough to hold even when he’s in full-out “I will get this deer even if I have to drag my human through the woods” mode, and he’s become used to the leash length and typically doesn’t try to pull anymore. Unlike what another reviewer said, the loop is adjustable from very XXXL to the size of a normal hand leash - the smallest size would be only slightly too big for my 4 year old nephew’s waist. I like that there is a little bit of stretch in the length portion of the leash so my pup can feel that he’s near the end of his length before he pulls too hard and chokes himself. If we go for a hike where I can trust him with a little more distance, I use a 2ft leash extender. On a personal note, while our pup had lots of exercise before (he loves fetch), I was living a mostly sedentary lifestyle. This purchase helped me to have the best walking (and sometimes even running) buddy, and I’m much healthier because of it. He now typically prefers to go on adventures rather than play in the yard, and it’s really added to our bond. I really like this product and concept. I just wish the leash was longer since you lose length when you have to increase the waist size.
