Assembly was pretty easy, although the instructions were not terribly clear. The gold colored picture frame piece is very thin, though, and sticks out beyond the edges. My cat tried to rub her face on the frame and poked herself in the eye. She didn't injure herself, and I'm sure she has learned not to do that again, but I think that's a definite design flaw. Otherwise I love it, and she seems to use it regularly. I subtracted 2 stars for the minor safety issue.

Cat uses it regularly, both as a scratching pad but also as a bed. Not as sturdy as one would hope, but great for its cost.
