I thought this was a great idea to seperate baby chicks from the flock. I like that you can shape it the way you need to fit it in your designated area. the only complaint is that its basically plastic cardboard and we had to set up some bricks around it to keep it sturdy. Sometimes chickens fly off the roost and land on it, well, it was collapsed the first morning! thankfully chickens were fine but we had to make supports. I hope this helps!

I'm on my second batch of baby chicks being raised in this brooder. It was easy to assemble, expandable, and sturdy enough for chicks to stay in until moving to the coop. The pole that comes with the brooder, however, is not sturdy enough to hold a regular sized heat lamp. It also doesn't adjust high enough to regulate the heat enough. Make sure you have a second option for suspending the lamp.
Not for standard size chicks

I purchased this as a backup brooder. I have not needed it for that, but I use it as a holding pen when I clean my brooder. My chicks are only 2.5 weeks old and they are already flying out of this. This would be a terrible brooder full time. It's rather flimsy and just not tall enough. I don't think it's sturdy enough to put wire on the top to keep them in. It probably would work fine for bantam chicks. I should have returned it when I got it.
The idea is good
It’s kinda flimsy. I graduated to something more sturdy. It’s not good to have 2 baby chicks escape.

Cheap, no bottom
This looks at first glance to be a great starter brooder but it's not good for anything. It's essentially the same thickness as poster board held together with zip

Chicken Brooder
This is perfect for baby chickens. It’s linked together so you can make it smaller or larger and even add a second one when the chickens grow needing more space

Not so great
It is okay for about 2 weeks, at which point they start flying up to perch on the edge.

Light Stand
The light stand did not hold the lamp & does not sit flush on ground. There is no bottom on the panels.
