I did a lot of research before purchasing a new dog food. We were feeding our Bernese mountain dog puppy science diet, started looking at different reviews and things to look for in a good dog food and science diet was one of the least recommended. After looking at several puppy/dog foodswecame across Farmina N&D we started with the ancestral grain because it was full of good ingredients and was on the cheaper side of the products, our poor boy’s stomach did not agree with it, which ended in a return to chewy which was so easy and painless. We then bought the Farmina N&D prime chicken and pomegranate which our boy loves and has the perfect ingredients for a healthy dog, though it is on the pricey side, I’d do anything to help keep Melvin with us longer, healthier and happier.

This is a very popular food in Europe

When I brought my girl over from the Czech Republic and she was on this food. My older dog has always been raw fed. I always worried about what I was going to do if I had to leave the house for an emergency preparedness thing, like a fire or flood, because he would never eat any kind of dry food. I tried them all. Imagine my surprise when he started stealing the puppies food. For those that say it gave their dogs diarrhea I really don't understand it unless you just changed from one dry food to another dry food without titrating them down. I've never had a problem with diarrhea and I've got eight puppies on this right now. I also raw feed them part of the time.

I wanted to try because food because had such high ratings online. My 8 week old will be big one day but the size of bites were kind of large for him now. The smell of the food is not very inviting but as I said, best rating so has to be good for him.

Great quality, just not for my puppy

My 8 week old german shepherd loved the lamb and blueberry pumpkin grain free maxi adult style of N&D. I then switched her to this puppy formula and she wouldn't

My 8 week old german shepherd loved the lamb and blueberry pumpkin grain free maxi adult style of N&D. I then switched her to this puppy formula and she wouldn't eat it and it turned her poop mushy and dark brown. I would still recommend this food because it is great quality, however it just didn't work for my picky puppy. We have found a new food, which is just about the same quality and her poop and eating habits are better. Good luck!

I absolutely love this dog food, the content of the food is great. I do wish that they would use something other than potato as one of the main ingredients, but the protein/fat and carb percentages are phenomenal. I used to feed my 8 month old rottweiler orijen large breed until they changed the formula. If anyone is looking for a very comparable product I highly recommend this. She goes bonkers when it's time to eat and she has never left the bowl empty. She has not had any sort of stomach problems or poor reactions from this food and it helps her coat shine like no tomorrow.

Size of kibble is very big

42% Protein - 96% from chicken. Minimal protein booster from plant(alfalfa only..4%?). 1.5%/1.0% cal/pho ratio. 8.7% ash. Only downside is binder(potato) - I believe

42% Protein - 96% from chicken. Minimal protein booster from plant(alfalfa only..4%?). 1.5%/1.0% cal/pho ratio. 8.7% ash. Only downside is binder(potato) - I believe this is better than tapioca but prefer sweet potato or yams instead of potato. No need to explain anymore. Feed this if you have medium/large breed no matter puppy or adult. May not fit for small breed since kibble size is big. However, This is good for most in case since it actually controls eating speed and may use it as a treat. Kcal/cup looks little less (405kcal?) but Farmina claims 108g is one cup size. Usually 120g is one cup size in the USA. This happens maybe kibble size. Package is a lot bigger than other brand's package too. Odor is somewhat strong so you want to store it in the container. The material of package make impossible to roll up. I recommend you to buy a big pet food container. You will need bigger than 30 lbs container since package is very big. Do not expect regular size 26~30 lbs package size.
