    By Austin1338 on Jul 30, 2021

Our puppy's breeder feeds Farmina to their dogs and recommended it to us. It is a high quality food and our puppy loves it.

    Product has top ratings

By MissPi on Feb 18, 2018

I wanted to try because food because had such high ratings online. My 8 week old will be big one day but the size of bites were kind of large for him now. The smell of the food is not very inviting but as I said, best rating so has to be good for him.

Great quality, just not for my puppy

By itsnevastar on Mar 20, 2017

My 8 week old german shepherd loved the lamb and blueberry pumpkin grain free maxi adult style of N&D. I then switched her to this puppy formula and she wouldn't eat it and it turned her poop mushy and dark brown. I would still recommend this food because it is great quality, however it just didn't work for my picky puppy. We have found a new food, which is just about the same quality and her poop and eating habits are better. Good luck!

    Perfect for my pup

    By flynnd297 on Jan 12, 2017

I absolutely love this dog food, the content of the food is great. I do wish that they would use something other than potato as one of the main ingredients, but the protein/fat and carb percentages are phenomenal. I used to feed my 8 month old rottweiler orijen large breed until they changed the formula. If anyone is looking for a very comparable product I highly recommend this. She goes bonkers when it's time to eat and she has never left the bowl empty. She has not had any sort of stomach problems or poor reactions from this food and it helps her coat shine like no tomorrow.

Size of kibble is very big

By ancientman on Apr 9, 2016

42% Protein - 96% from chicken. Minimal protein booster from plant(alfalfa only..4%?). 1.5%/1.0% cal/pho ratio. 8.7% ash. Only downside is binder(potato) - I believe this is better than tapioca but prefer sweet potato or yams instead of potato. No need to explain anymore. Feed this if you have medium/large breed no matter puppy or adult. May not fit for small breed since kibble size is big. However, This is good for most in case since it actually controls eating speed and may use it as a treat. Kcal/cup looks little less (405kcal?) but Farmina claims 108g is one cup size. Usually 120g is one cup size in the USA. This happens maybe kibble size. Package is a lot bigger than other brand's 42% Protein - 96% from chicken. The material of package make impossible to roll up. I recommend you to buy a big pet food container. You will need bigger than 30 lbs container since package is very big. Do not expect regular size 26~30 lbs package size. … more

    smells awful

By Grammy on Jan 29, 2016

Lovely company to shop with. However, my picky pup refuses to eat the large breed puppy food. He will wait for an opportunity to steal food from adult dogs. When food is left in his bowl in kitchen, the entire room smells of rotting fish. I tried blending it with another brands, and somehow he will spend the time to pick through food and avoid the Farmina.

Excellent food for Giant Breed Puppy

By Caringforpets on Nov 22, 2015

My English Mastiff pup has been on Fromm Giant Breed from about 8wks until 10 months. It has been hard to satisfy her hunger (we were up to 8cups a day), she is always looking for more to eat and even eats poop while she's out in the yard every chance she gets. She has also had issues with diarrhea off & on. I'm not saying that it's Fromm's fault. I think Fromm is a very good food & the price is very good. I thought she may just need a grain free, higher quality food & after researching many different foods, Farmina giant breed puppy, seemed like it might be the one. She loves the taste (as do my 2 other dogs), you can see that the kibble is high quality, it doesn't smell that good to me, but My English Mastiff pup has been on Fromm Giant Breed from about 8wks until 10 months. My puppy loves it!

By CocoaPuff on Mar 16, 2015

Food was a big hit with my puppy, although I think the pieces are too large for her at only 8 weeks. I'm getting the regular size puppy food and saving the large breed puppy size bag for afterwards.

    Puppy Crack!!

By Maligator on Apr 16, 2014

This is true puppy crack! He goes nuts for this kibble, more than any of his treats. I will be using this as regular food and the wild boar variety as training treats, especially when learning new tricks because he's so eager for it! He had digestion difficulties on Blue Buffalo Wilderness LBP and hated the taste. I switched to Fromm LBP, which is a great food, but he found the taste rather meh. He'd eat it, but wouldn't go wild over it. But my picky pup goes nuts for this! It's a little more expensive than Fromm, but it's worth it to see him enjoy his food like that!
