I have 4 horses and I wanted to try the Quietex pellets on my 3 year old Standardbred, Chance. I got him in July as a rescue and he is a good boy however he gets nervous and stressed when he is first introduced to something or in an unfamiliar environment, and I thought this might help calm him a bit while we work or take a walk, or a trip in the trailer. As you can see from my pics, the texture of the product is tiny nugget shapes, it comes with it's own scoop and it looks pretty good, right? Well, Chance did not think so. He sniffed it and that was it. I tried to give him a scoopful and he turned his head away. I then mixed it in with 2 quarts of his daily pellets and he did not finish his dinner. I smelled it and it seemed alright, so I thought I would give the 3 other horses a scoopful with their pellets to see if he was just being fussy. My mare is the only one who would eat it, the others just tried to pick around it and didn't finish. Unfortunately, she is not the one who would benefit from the product

This product performed very well and I was quite impressed. I used it on a TB that was on stall rest due to an injury, and the results were undeniable. She is a constant stall walker when she is in just for brief periods let alone continuously. The product does take a few days to take effect so you must plan for that when using it for showing. Once it began to work she became quieter and less agitated and it made her stall rest time so much better! Absolutely no problems with her eating it, mixed it right into her meal and she cleaned it up.

One of my horses gets loose stools when ever he has to get on the trailer to go anywhere. My vet suggested that I try Farnam Quietex Show pellets and it definetely helped with his problem. I started giving him one little scooper mixed into his feed 3 days prior to his trailer trip. He eats it right up and no more having to wash his butt and legs when he gets off the trailer. What a relief! I have been using Farnam products for my horses for about 35 years. I am always happy with their consistent quality.

So far it’s palatable, and easy to give since it’s a pellet. My picky horse eats it, and so does my not so picky horse. I’m not sure that it’s doing much, but I don’t really think it’s been long enough either. I’d imagine you’d need to at least go through more than a couple weeks, but it does say to start it 5-7 days before an event- if that’s the case, I’d say this product won’t help a particularly stressed horse, since I’ve tried it a couple weeks with almost no change. A lot of what is in this product is vitamin based, including selenium- so take that into account if you combine this with other supplements containing vitamins that can be over dosed. The product is show safe, as it doesn’t show up during testing which is nice. One thing I don’t love, you have to give 3oz a day. It doesn’t specify whether you should give all at once. But if your horses doesn’t like it, it will be a problem hiding it in grain. Overall, it’s probably worth trying this product, even just if you’re looking for added gut health. But there are a ton of products on the market for that as well.

The product has good ingredients, and I really hoped that it would help settle my boss mare as I attempt to introduce a new herd mate. Although it smells fine - albeit to my puny nose, three out of three horses would not touch it. I tried mixing it in with their meals, and tried adding it to a treat, and each time they completely refused it. For that reason, I can't say whether or not it works.

I currently use another brand of calming pellets for my gelding who can get spooky while out on the trail. I don't ride as much in Winter so I stop using those pellets during downtime to save on cost. This was a good time to try the Quietex and compare the two. My horse lives to eat and he noticed the new pellets in his grain and didn’t seem to care for them, not sure if it's taste or smell. Compared to the other brand I use, Quietex is missing a few ingredients so I'm going to stick with what I like. The ease of feeding a pellet is much nicer than a paste.

I mixed a scoop of this in with Purina Outlast, which my horse loves. He took one bite and wouldn't eat anything in the bucket anymore. I will say he is a picky eater, so take this with a grain of salt, but the taste might be a blocker for some horses. Maybe mixing with something really yummy would help, but he eats up his Outlast happily everyday and that wasn't enough to mask the taste for him. Not sure if that would be worth it since there are plenty of calming products out there that seem to taste much better! Unfortunately, I can't speak to how well this product works since he wouldn't eat it. I gave it to a friend out at the barn, so hopefully her horse is able to get past the taste!

My 17 year old gelding seems to like this. I added them to his daily grain he gets in the evening and he eats it right up. Though he is older he is still a very hyper and active boy. This seems to calm him in the evening when it's time to go in for the night. I like the added nutrients and vitamins to keep him healthy and his digestion normal.

Easy to feed calming & digestive product!

I love that this is a easy to feed pellet product! It is always a fight to get paste supplements in my fillies mouth and I don't have to worry about that with this

I love that this is a easy to feed pellet product! It is always a fight to get paste supplements in my fillies mouth and I don't have to worry about that with this pellet formula! I appreciate that you can use this product daily as needed or feed 5-7 days prior to showing! My filly tends to get worked up when hauling to shows; this product helps calm her and with the digestive support I don't have to worry about ulcers! I would recommend this product!
