Very clean, smells good, very soft

You get an unbelievable amount of chopped straw, a whole lot of straw for the money. I found it to be very clean, no chemical or strange odor, decent smelling clean straw, very chopped up and soft. I think this is perfect for outdoor cat shelters. From my perspective and particular needs, I need something that is chopped up not long strands of straw because I use a cooler and the inside is not that roomy. The organic long strand type is amazing, smells divine, relatively expensive and I need to take a pair of scissors to make the strands shorter because the shelters don't allow an abundance of straw. It's a long strands take up more room naturally. They are 48 can coolers. Here you get an unbelievable amount of straw and it is already chopped up which makes it easier in my particular situation for a cat to enter and create his or her own niche. Perfect! Being chopped up creates a bit of dust, I guess, but mainly this is just clean straw and my perspective was that this was all very good. I found absolutely no defects or foreign objects. Just as you clean dried peas or beans before you cook, natural products might contain something that you need to remove. If you find something that shouldn't be there just take it out. It's a natural product so sooner or later you might find something that doesn't belong. I finished filling up the cooler shelter with the straw and it was all clean and good and nice and soft. If you learn how to store it properly, you can use it for the next winter. It says that it can last a little bit more than a year. But you have to store it properly. Hey, I was very pleased. The price is extraordinary for the huge amount of straw that you get. So if you have large roomy shelters you can use the long strand organic type, but on the other hand, this is just perfect & great! I am indeed grateful to have found this. The volume is enormous, and I live in an apartment, so it might be a problem to store it. If you store it properly and follow recommendations that are on the package, this will last you for the next winter.

The mice were a hit. My cat cannot chase enough mice. One problem I didn't like was today the stitchiing was starting to come out and the filling was bulging out

It looks to me that they are not finishing off their stitching to lock the stitching, so after a few plays the thread starts pulling out. I'll have to repair them or throw them out. That was disappointing.
