Really enjoying this feeder, but not without a few bumps at the beginning. The assembly and set up instructions are fairly simple, but it took longer than I expected to pair the camera (the camera didn't recognize the QR code in the instructions right away). Once I got it set up, I almost immediately had visitors. You can watch the camera from your phone, or set up an alert so you know when a bird has come to the feeder. I did get a lot of alerts where there were no birds, so I'm guessing it was motion activated. There are lots of functions on the app, but no instructions on how to use them, so it was trial and error. Once the battery is charged, it recharges using solar power, or can be disconnected and plugged in. I've had it set up for 5 days in partly sunny conditions, and still have 30% battery available. The feeder comes with the hardware needed to mount to a tree, but I was concerned about squirrels, so opted to purchase the mounting pole offered by the same manufacturer on Chewy separately. More on squirrels...the feeder has an alarm feature that sounds like an air raid siren! It can be set up to automatically go off when a squirrel visits the feeder (I guess based on weight), or manually. I woke up the other morning and checked my feeder, only to see a squirrel enjoying breakfast. The automatic siren hadn' t gone off, so I engaged the manual alarm and the squirrel didn't move...brave fellow I guess! I've attached a few bird "selfies" captured over the weekend. They're enjoying eating from the feeder as much as I'm enjoying watching them.

I've had several small species of birds visit the feeder and although I can imagine larger birds being able to use it to a point, I don't know that anything larger than a crow would be able to comfortably use it. The video quality is superb and the bird identification option is decent. I would say it's about 75% accurate. The product itself is made of quality materials and it will likely withstand the elements for quite some time. This product is an absolute joy and gives me insights into wildlife that I didn't imagine prior to owning it. It's also educational (when accurate) in identifying and learning new birds. I would highly recommend this product to a moderately tech savvy bird lover in your life!

I was very thrilled to receive my Caitec Featherland Paradise Smart AI Bird Feeder with Recognition Technology! Upon opening the package and inspecting its contents, I found the product components packed well with no damage noted. The housing parts appeared sturdy and made of good quality plastic. The product instructions came with easy-to-follow, color illustrations, and assembly took less than ten minutes. After downloading the required app and charging the camera/battery unit fully, I readied the unit for placement outside. Note: This product is intended to be mounted to a tree or other stationary object. As that option was unavailable to me, I used heavy duty double-sided tape to adhere the unit to two equal-length sections of 2x4 that I had, which worked fine. I then filled the bird feeder with food, placed it outside and waited. Within an hour, I started receiving notifications that the feeder had detected a bird. I excitedly opened the app and quickly snapped several photos. I then spent two amazing hours watching in real time as birds approached the unit, fed, and departed! In testing the bird identification feature, the unit accurately recognized approximately 88% of visiting birds, though incorrect results could have been attributed to insufficient lighting, subject movement before proper identification was possible, etc. I did not try the cloud function, as I uploaded my photos to my own cloud service. In considering image quality, I found the majority of photos taken were mostly clear, though in some photos, the visiting bird had fed right up next to the camera resulting in blurry images. In the ideal, I suspect a minimum distance between the visiting bird and the camera would likely be necessary before higher levels of image clarity could be realized. As touted, visiting bird notifications were delivered timely, as was the signal alerting me to charge the battery. Overall, I am pleased with Caitec's Featherland Paradise Smart AI bird feeder and would recommend it to birdwatching lovers and anyone else wishing to add a little something special to their backyards or gardens.

I love the Caitec Featherland Paradise Smart AI Recognition Bird Feeder! It’s very relaxing for me to sit and watch birds frequenting feeders in my yard. But I’m always curious about the types of birds I see. To learn more about them, I would try to get a sufficient photograph and then look up the bird in a guidebook. This AI Recognition feeder has resolved that issue in every way. First things first, the feeder arrived well packaged and in excellent condition. It’s quick and easy to assemble with a well thought-out design. It holds a good amount (about ½ gallon) of feed and is easy to refill. After fully charging the battery, mounting and connecting the feeder to wi-fi, I downloaded the free app that accompanies it. In my opinion, the app could use more instructions. I would suggest spending a little time exploring the app or search online about how others use it. It’s worth it. Once you get the idea of how it’s laid out, it’s easy to use and has many wonderful features (there are also informative FAQ sections). You can set the camera between SD or HD and monitor the battery. The solar panels work very well (power hasn’t dropped below 98% even on rainy days). You can live view your feeder and set it to receive activity notifications. It snaps a photo of the bird and produces good quality video with sound. You also have the option of snapping your own photos and recording videos. Whether live, photo or video, you can learn more about the bird(s) with a simple tap of a button. Want to talk to the birds? The feeder can receive your mobile phone’s microphone audio. Have an unwanted guest (such as a squirrel)? There’s a siren button that will likely scare them away. You can also share live (in real time), photos or videos with friends or family. I’m very pleased with this bird feeder and actually enjoy it more than anticipated.
