Very difficult to download app and have it link to camera
The linking of the app to the camera is very difficult. Finally got the app and camera to work in sync, but we are not getting any pictures or video. Disappointing

Bird feeder and camera
Other than finding out I have atleast a hundred birds coming to my feeder everyday it's nice to see if I can identify them all.

I have only had the FeatherSnap bird feeder for a few days but I like what I have experienced so far. It has two containers for bird food so you can put a variety of food in to attract different birds. Both sides hold a good quantity of food which means less refilling. The battery life has been doing well but I live in the north so I will see how well the solar power works in the winter. The quality of the pictures are really good and I have enjoyed going through the pictures to see the many feathered friends who have visited. You have to download an app to be able to view those pictures and although there is a free version of the app, it only allows you to view pictures of the birds or watch them live. In my case, has been difficult to watch it live due to the WiFi connection not being good. If you want videos, badges, the bird book or any other option that they offer, you have to pay a monthly or annual fee for the upgrade. It is $6.99 per month or $59.99 per year. I have not decided if I am going to upgrade or stick with the free version. I love watching birds and would like to have more options but I am not sure I want to pay an extra fee to do that.
Amazing, Fun, and Affordable Bird Feeder Camera
My wife has been wanting something like this for a couple years now, so when I unboxed this she was very excited. And it far surpassed her hopes and expectations
My wife has been wanting something like this for a couple years now, so when I unboxed this she was very excited. And it far surpassed her hopes and expectations. Not only is it solar powered so you dont have to worry about power cords or replacing/charging batteries; it is made of quality long lastong materials. It seems that it will survive the harsh new england winters. Theres a large reservoir for seeds/food and the camera is amazing quality and shows perfect detail. Theres even a feature that helps identify what bird you are seeing at the moment. This bird feeder camera house is the whole package and at under $200 its a grear price point most can afford. I highly reccomend this product. It was mainly for my wife but now I find myself checking the app/camera all day.
The feeder was unusable after 2 months because a Firmware update that would not go through and they have a 30 day return policy.

So I wasn’t quite sure what to expect when I was offered this product. Sure, I had considered the idea of getting a bird feeder to entertain my cats when I’m at work. However, this truly goes above and beyond a simple bird feeder. It has a camera, it’s solar powered, it has an app so you can access the camera, and it has two chambers for different kinds of bird food. The app/internet aspect has both pros and cons. The con is that to use advanced features you need to pay for a subscription. Thankfully you can use the app for free just to check the camera and save pictures and videos. Someone with extra spending money and/or who LOVES birds may consider getting the subscription. However, I am not one of those people (even though I really do like birds and identifying animals) so I will not be purchasing the subscription. I appreciate that you aren’t locked out of the app without paying though. There’s also some tools that are needed for set up. If you are handy with drills it should be a breeze as this does come with all of the screws and a bracket, but for less handy individuals such as myself it’s a bit more of a project. I currently have it sitting on a bench in my backyard because I have to make time to drill holes in the tree out front. It still works but for people who want to keep away squirrels and other critters this may not be the best solution. All in all it’s a totally fascinating, high tech product that people who are super duper passionate about birds would enjoy. But considering the price point and set up process, it’s not what I would consider ideal for someone who is okay with any bird feeder. I could also see it being useful for people who publish videos of birds as like those cat TV channels online, it would be a really convenient way to make that content.
