Problems but still enjoy it.
I love this cage but as I saw in other reviews, the directions to put it together are very vague. It is a pain to put together, but the ferret it was bought for really enjoys it. It can also be a pain to clean out, because we don't want to take it apart, due to what a pain it was to put together.
Was great at first but this cage is definitely not for rats.
When I first bought this cage for my pack of rats it was great they were able to live comfortably however in the span of a few months disaster struck one of my rats that likes to chew got bored of her chew toys and decided to chew on of the corners of the cage and she managed to get through it so I had to catch a lot of the rats and put them in a temporary glass cage and had to get a replacement only buy this cage for rodents that don't have a big habit of chewing.
Do not purchase
I ordered this cage a few days ago and I don’t recommend anyone buy it It looks like it could be an amazing cage but when I went to put it together none of the parts fit, the instructions were vague and pieces of it broke easily I’m so mad I wasted this much money on a piece of junk seriously don’t buy it If I could rate it 0 stars I would
Missing Parts, Bad Instructions.
I was interested because EmZotic uses this cage. Let me start by saying that the, "instructions" are garbage. For the caging itself, it just shows the two parts assembled, and the bottom of one corner of one wall. The other page is just how to secure the ledge. That's it. That is all of the instructions. I had to go to YouTube to find the official video instructions, and they are only a little better. You can see a guy assembling it, but there is no voice over or written information. I had to rewatch one part five times to realize he had flipped the top cage over. Next problem, the top bin is the same as the bottom bin, just with a hole cut out for the tunnel. That means that the top bin actually has the mounting slot for the wheels. The second problem with this is that you need screw to secure the supplied tubing to the top bin. It doesn't come with screws for this. The screw provided are for the wheel mountings, so you will still need more if you want to use the wheels. It never mentions the screws, and the video instructions never actually show the tubing being secured. It is a major design over sight. As others have mentioned, the entire structure is actually pretty hard to assemble. Once you find out what you are supposed to be doing, prepare to put in a lot of force to get this thing to go together. I weigh 300 lbs and I had to use my full body weight to get some of these things to go together.
poor quality cage
Instructions are hard to read. Pieces are not labeled. Began assembly and the top roof part did not line up with the cage’s side walls. Unable to put together. Highly disappointed for the price of the item.
Best Cage Ever
So I finally upgraded to this awesome cage. I decided to buy this even after reading so many negative reviews. I thought, how in the world could this thing be so hard to put together.... that's the thing. It's EASY. There is no forcing pieces together to the point they break. My bottom tube stays in place perfectly. The cage is very easy to disassemble and do a full clean (which happens once a month). I can literally fit the entire top of my body inside the door if needed. Anyways, back to the assembly.... if you are having trouble getting the cage bars to slide into the side pieces, do not force. The top assembly and bottom assembly bars are two different sizes!!!! No one mentions this in their reviews!! If you are having trouble, switch the bars out. You can barely tell the size difference by looking at them. Putting this cage together/taking apart is very simple. I did the assembly by myself, with a 2 year old running around in less than an hour!!
good cage, crappy instructions
The first cage chewy sent me was broke. Multiple pieces were broke. I tried to make due with it, but absolutely couldn’t. It took 4 phone calls, 3 fedex pick up times, and no one picked it up. The fourth call I made I had them just send me a new label and drove it to drop off at fedex myself. Good costumer service every time, but it was a hassle for sure. The instructions for this cage are horrible. No words, just pictures. No parts were labeled to even remotely follow. I highly recommend looking up an assemble video on YouTube. All together though, I love the cage itself! My ferrets have PLENTY of room now. I love the large side walls keeps bedding and poop in and doesn’t allow them to poop outside of the cage.
Flimsy cage and accessories
I am very disappointed in this purchase. We have two ferrets that we wanted a larger cage for. This cage is huge and could be awesome! This cage is not made from quality materials. The main door latch doesn’t stay closed because the bars bend so easily. The tunnel system tubes won’t stay together which caused our male ferret to take a pretty big fall. For the price we expected better. This cage is cumbersome and weird when trying to maneuver anything inside or for cleanup. This cage is so wide there should be doors on each side of each level. Needless to say, I would not recommend this and would return this product had we not destroyed the box already. Pretty bummed that I wasted money because we had to put our ferrets back into their smaller cage and this cage is useless to us
Cool but flawed
Ok, so awesome cage in theory; it's huge, it's sturdy, and it has cool tunnels for the stinky slinky. What isn't so great is the inaccessibility, the shelves, and the tubes themselves. The lower tube constantly falls down; it stays together, but as a whole unit it falls with my ferret in it (comical the first couple of times, then got old pretty fast). The second issue is that it's impossible to get into the daggum thing to clean it. I'm about ready to weld-rig the darn thing to have larger doors! You literally have to squeeze into this teeny tiny hole to clean each level- think Great Dane trying to fit into a pomeranian sized dog door. The last issue is that the shelves work for baby ferrets, not so much for adults. My guy is only 6 months and already has trouble staying on them because he turns around and already is forced to put one paw off- as funny as he looks doubling over on himself like a circus contortionist, I feel bad. Fixes: -larger access doors that allow humans to clean the thing without having four ribs and the collar bone surgically removed -Tunnels that don't plummet into the abyss with my stinky slinky inside -Larger shelves that allow for a full furball rotation
Hard to clean/put together
So overall it's not a bad kennel. Lots of room to play and my ferrets really like it. There aren't great instructions to put it together. Probably took about 5 hours to put together while on my own. Also it is hard to clean. The small doors on the front don't make the kennel very accessible and it's hard to reach to the back to clean. I find I have to take all the layers apart to really clean it which is heavy. If your ferrets are pretty tidy and use the litter box well (mine aren't) this kennel will probably be great.
