Toy fell and severely injured my Sun Conure
We have purchased this toy several times, to the point that we called it “Ernesto” because our 13-year old Sun Conure loved it so much. Unfortunately, we never noticed
We have purchased this toy several times, to the point that we called it “Ernesto” because our 13-year old Sun Conure loved it so much. Unfortunately, we never noticed that the top the sombrero is poorly secured to the rope used for hanging it. The toy fell with our Sun Conure on top and she is currently on her third day in the hospital, is lethargic and in pain, and is pending an xray for internal trauma. This has never happened with another toy in the 13 years we’ve had our Sun Conure. Most of the other toys are secured my metal, plastic, or several layers of knots. We made a bad assumption that this toy was also assembled that way. Sadly our bird may not recover because of this toy. We recommend to others DO NOT place this toy in a hanging position. Place it so the bottom of the toy is touching the bottom of the cage and watch the sumbrero and rope for any signs of deterioration.
