The Fido Fave Self-Cleaning UV Sterilization Cat Slicker Brush makes grooming and caring for your furbaby’s health su-paw simple. The brush gently removes loose undercoat, tangled hair, dander and trapped dirt. The stainless steel needles feature a 60-degree bend and are slightly elastic, which can help to promote blood flow as you brush. The ultraviolet design can also help you to find small disease spots, so you can stay on top of your furbaby’s health. If the brush starts to accumulate hair, just press the “clean” button, which will retract the bristles so you can easily wipe the hair away. The brush is easy to hold and is paw-fect for dogs and cats with longer coats and non-sensitive skin.

I have always used something to brush our cats, but this is the absolute best. In the past, I used a glove and the hair flew everywhere, including on my body and face. But this brush neatly holds all the fur in it's hairs and a simply flick of the button releases a condensed patch to be thrown away.
We have a dog that sheds A LOT! With a traditional dog brush, we need to clear the bristles after 3 or 4 strokes. This brush still fills up quickly, but ejecting the hair is quick and easy. A regular brush releases dog hair into the air and is messy to use. This brush compacts the dog hair and the quick release drops the clump right into the trash (totally hands free!). It really is a smart design. Happy to have it.
Button is smooth for clicking. Ive got a feisty tuxedo kitty who hates being touched. But she actually likes this, she does that back arch thing. Super cute. Altough I dont reccomend it for cats under 1 YO. The bristles may be a little too rough.
Long hair domestic+ southwest heat= lots of shedding I have other brushes for different times but needed one that would get the under coat well and this did the trick. Took about 45min but I now have 2 long hair domestic's one just sits and the other is a pile of fur.
I purchased this item because the price was lower than others for the type of bristles I was looking for. Cons: The light does not work. Pros: It is lightweight. The bristles are firm, but not rough. My 20 lb cats and 90 lb dogs seem to love it, and all line up for brushing when I pull it out. I did not purchase it for the light, so that is not an issue.
The best feature, hands down, are the retractable bristles. When they retract they leave a perfect square of matted fur which drops easily into the waste basket. One caveat, our Rhodesian Ridgeback had no problems with the Furminator, but the bristles on this brush are a little uncomfortable for her. For long haired, double and triple coated dogs, this is a great brush.
When received the box was crushed so I do not know if this product is not working correctly or if it is the fact that it was damaged in route. The brush is very flimsy and I cannot get it to retract to remove the hair. I have tried it several times but it sometimes retracts and other times it does not. Would not recommend this product to anyone.
My senior balinese cat HATES getting brushed. We had tried her with several different grooming brushes that did work, but she hated them because of how rough they were on her. They would be hard to use cause of how thick her fur was, and the ones more comfortable simply would not assist in removing all her excess hair. Brushing her with a shedding brush would often result in hair flying all over the place- so much so that we had to brush her outside cause of how much hair we were surrounded with, so needless to say, they were messy. BUT THIS BRUSH She LOVES it!! and so do I! This brush is so easy to hold and even easier to use. At first glance, the bristles looked a little sharp, but my cat made it very clear to me she was comfortable with it. She had developed several knots from refusing to be brushed before, but in one to two sessions, I was able to remove all of them effortlessly with this brush. The best part is hair didn't fly nearly as much, and she didn't run. Cleanup is a breeze, and my cat loves it so much that she gets excited when I pull it out. After several months of not being able to brush her, I am now able to do it once a day.
My cat and dog both will sit still for their brushing. Never did that before. Super easy to clean. Push the back of it and hair is all removed. Would buy it again! If you have animals you need at least one of these brushes!
This did not work as I expected it to. In order to clean the brush you had to actually pick the hairs out of it instead of it self cleaning I know it did not say that it self cleaned and that was my fault for not noticing that.
