Pup won't even eat them

I purchased 2 bags of these as they were on sale and had great reviews. Both were Duck. My pup has had duck before and liked it. He literally smelled these and didn't

I purchased 2 bags of these as they were on sale and had great reviews. Both were Duck. My pup has had duck before and liked it. He literally smelled these and didn't want them. I encouraged him and he put it in his mouth and then let it drop out. I was worried he was sick so I gave him one of the training treats I have been using and he gobbled it up. I'm baffled. He is not finicky in general. Were the 5 start reviews for the other flavors? I see the duck is no longer available. I have one full opened bag and one unopened bag that I hope I can return.

With 2 puppies it’s important to have rewards always in your pocket. These are small soft and perfect for teaching your dogs new things and praising them for good

These are small soft and perfect for teaching your dogs new things and praising them for good behavior without breaking the bank or giving them tons of treats. We also are fans of Finleys brand and buy the peanut butter crunchy biscuits. My puppies like these duck flavor and they don’t smell bad like some soft meaty treats. Also good price for the quantity

Great treats, but not for us for training purposes

I had a tough time deciding on 4 or 5 stars because they're great treats, the pup loves them, and we'll definitely use them, but I find they don't work for us for

I had a tough time deciding on 4 or 5 stars because they're great treats, the pup loves them, and we'll definitely use them, but I find they don't work for us for training. And since that's what they're labeled/advertised for, I decided in the end to remove 1 star. For Training: Assuming this is what these treats are always like and I didn't get a rogue batch, I find they're *too* soft and chewy. Each piece is like a thick paste that loosely holds its shape. The problem with that is that they kind of squish and melt in her mouth but don't dissolve quickly, so she ends up chewing and licking too long after taking one and we have to wait 45-60 seconds for the next rep/command/etc. And after eating five or six of them, she goes over to drink water because her mouth is getting gummed up. So they really interrupt the flow of training, at least for us. If I'm doing simple or very relaxed training and spacing each piece out quite a bit (like maybe for certain counterconditioning where the slow pace is the point), I think I'll grab this bag and try again, but so far for commands or tricks and the like where I want to reinforce and repeat quickly, I'll stick to other treats. If your dog inhales training treats or can devour peanut butter with very little mlemming, then I think this would work great for you! And as I said, my girl loves them so I'll still use them for other things like in Kongs and puzzles and enrichment stuff since they'll be great for that. (They'd also probably be great frozen? I'll give that a try too.) So I'm not upset I bought them and the whole bag will definitely be used!
