Flexprofen (Carprofen) Chewable Tablets for Dogs, 100-mg, 1 Chewable Tablet

Active Ingredients: carprofen.

Inactive Ingredients: sucrose, silicon dioxide, hypromellose 2910 (5 MPA.S), microcrystalline cellulose, aspartame, magnesium stearate.

Consult your veterinarian before giving your pet Flexprofen. Follow the recommended administration on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian.

The recommended dosage for oral administration to dogs is 2 mg per pound of body weight daily.

The total daily dose may also be divided and administered as 1 mg per pound twice daily. For the control of postoperative pain, administer approximately 2 hours before the procedure.

Tablets are scored and dosage should be calculated in half-caplet increments.

Flexprofen is prescribed to relieve pain and inflammation associated with osetoarthritis and for the control of postoperative pain associated with soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries in dogs.

Consult your veterinarian before giving your pet Flexprofen. Follow the recommended administration on the package, unless otherwise instructed by your veterinarian. Flexprofen may be given with or without food, but food may reduce the chances for stomach problems.

Chemicals in the body called prostaglandins are reduced with Carprofen. Since prostaglandins trigger inflammation, minimizing them helps decrease inflammation and pain that occurs as a result of arthritis, surgery, and other joint conditions.

Symptoms of arthritis include stiffness, trouble walking, and difficulty rising. These symptoms can be relieved with Flexprofen although this medication will not cure arthritis since there is no known cure for this chronic condition. Your dog should start to feel better although results vary in each individual. If you discontinue Flexprofen you may notice your dogs symptoms returning.
