Questions & Answers

4 Customer Questions

What is the "slow-release mechanism" and is it adjustable (difficulty level)? What is the diameter of the hole? Is there more than one hole? Does the ball come apart for cleaning/filling?

Answer by ChewyMay 19, 2022
The slow dispensing mechanism consists of a couple rubber bumpers around the inside opening of the hole made of the same thermoplastic rubber as the rest of the ball. It stops the treats from falling out too easily. The difficulty level is not adjustable. The diameter of the hole is approximately 1”. The ball does not come apart for cleaning. To clean your Bumper Treat Ball, you can place it in the dishwasher, as it is dishwasher safe. Be sure to place it on the TOP RACK only, with the hole facing downwards. Make sure the inside of the toy is completely dry before using it again, to prevent bacteria or mold build up. Alternatively, you can also put a drop of dish washing detergent in the hole, fill with water and give it a good shake. Rinse until soap is gone, and lay on a rack with the hole facing down to dry.

Is this ball hard or flexible?

Answer by ChewyJun 10, 2024
This ball is made of soft yet durable TPR rubber.

Does this unscrew so you can open it up and clean the inside?

Answer by ChewyFeb 29, 2024
To clean the ball, simply ensure it’s empty first. Fill with soapy water (dish detergent works great), cover the hole and give it a good shake. Rinse it out until the water runs clear with no soap bubbles/foam. Alternatively, you can also use a vinegar and water solution. Set on a drying rack with the hole facing downwards to let fully dry. We recommend leaving it over night to ensure it is 100% dry in order to prevent any chance of mold.

My dog loves this ball so I keep buying it for her. My only complaint with it is that it doesn’t hold up to a tough tour as well as I would like so I’ve had to replace it now multiple times. But she loves it, so I’ll keep buying it.

Good general toy

My dog likes this as just a bubbly ball. As a treat dispenser it's overly generous with the small treats and hard to get bigger treats out.

We call it bumpy ball.

I give her this when it's time for her to play alone.
