The lid can be used with submersible mini-heaters that are either preset or thermostatically controlled. The power cord for such devices would rest on top of the top frame, and the canopy should sit safely on top of the cord and inner lip of the frame. Another option to heat the tanks would be a self-adhered heat pad placed on the exterior back or bottom similar to devices used for terrariums. Filtration would also be limited to either air-driven bio-filters (e.g. corner filters), or internal submersible units that can fit inside the tank.

Quality of materials

Great price for a well-made little glass tank. Waaaay too small for bettas, but will work great for some tiny shrimp!

Divider doesn't work with lid

Used it as a little terrarium for isopods, I don't like the divider as it isn't level for the top to sit on but other then that I like it

Too Small for ANY Fish

Bettas love space to swim around and explore, so having only a gallon (even less so with the divider) is extremely cruel. A single betta needs a minimum of 5 to have a happier and longer life. If you truly want a smaller tank for your betta, I suggest buying a 5 gallon second hand or waiting for a sale at a local fish supply store instead of wasting money on this. On top of that, bettas are territorial (hence why they are called siamese fighting fish) and will get sick or stressed with such small spaces next to one another even with the divider. These fish usually live around 4 years or more, so it is better to do research and invest in proper tank and care to get your moneys worth instead of having a sad little bettas that will die on you after only a few months. Not at all humane for any fish, so I would stick to aquatic plants and fake fish.

Please don’t

This is too small for even one betta let alone two. I put a baby fish in there and still had to move her when she was bigger. This tank is TOO small for a betta

Great little aquarium

Bought 2 of these for my daughters (ages 9 and 11) they both wanted fish but i didnt want and dont have space for a big aquarium. These are the perfect size to sit

Bought 2 of these for my daughters (ages 9 and 11) they both wanted fish but i didnt want and dont have space for a big aquarium. These are the perfect size to sit on their desks in their rooms. They both chose 1 female beta fish so the divider was unnecessary hiving their fishies more space to swim about. The aquarium is easy to clean as its not huge and bulky so you literally can pick it up dump the water out rinse and scrub what needs scrubbing and put back together on days your not doing partial water changes. Its very dry in my home an i expected the water to evaporate quickly but the lid fits perfectly on top minimizing this and and spilling that might happen if the desk is bumped or while carrying it back to its spot on the desk. I highly recommend this if you only want 1 fish that wont get big, doesnt school, and is kind of "lazy" fish (just kind of sits there and looks pretty)
