Cute, but easy to mess up

You should probably mostly ignore the step order of the building directions and build from the bottom up, or you will almost certainly do something backwards. I

You should probably mostly ignore the step order of the building directions and build from the bottom up, or you will almost certainly do something backwards. I did, and had to rebuild it from square one. Some of the connections are a little loose too, and I'll have to secure it later. But it's cute, and the cats like it, and that's what really matters.

assembly is not fun.

I didn't expect to need to assemble 1000 pieces. haha. I still haven't put it together. But, the pieces seem pretty solid, so that's good.

Design Needs Minor Changes

This is after a little over one year's use by two cats, one of whom is a senior cat who isn't as steady on her feet. We ended up taking off the top scratching post

This is after a little over one year's use by two cats, one of whom is a senior cat who isn't as steady on her feet. We ended up taking off the top scratching post and bolting the top platform directly to the top cubby. When we had it assembled as directed, the bolt securing the post to the cubby was getting worked loose by my 9 lb oramge boi leaping up to escape to his chosen retreat. The landings for each level aren't quite wide enough and don't have enough traction for my cats to safely jump down onto. We tried placing non-skid strips but those didn't work too well either. The space available just isn't wide enough for my cats to be able to use. We did change the way the portholes faced in each cubby to work better with the layout in our tiny home main space. Both cats enjoy birb watching out the window and catching sunbeam naps from the upper cubby and the large platform in the middle. The bottom cubby doesn't seem to be used as much by either. I think it's not high enough off the ground. The small sisal mat did NOT last very long, less than three months, as it was quite popular with the cats. My dearly departed old Manx boi was always getting a good stretchy scratch using it. Replacement mats for it would be welcome and I would've had them on autoship! The sisal ropes on the posts have stood up surprisingly well. Being able to disassemble and flip them have helped. Scratching the middle section posts is challenging to post locations and not all posts get the same amount of use. The washable mats have handled multiple washings well. We did add a couple self-warming mats for our senior cats so they could have extra cushioning and warmth during the winter months. If you have a heavier cat, you may want to consider adding additional cushioning under the mat(s) cuz they're kinda thin. My Manx boi was 15 lbs and he found having a folded up fleece lap blanket underneath was just right. NOTE: The damage to the bottom cubby trim was caused by a teething puppy and not by the cats or poor construction.

Looks Nice but Not Totally Cat Friendly

It was easy to put together and over all it looks nice but all 4 of my cats have trouble going down from the middle part. I think the top of the first level really

It was easy to put together and over all it looks nice but all 4 of my cats have trouble going down from the middle part. I think the top of the first level really should have extended out to the left more to allow the cats room to jump off that middle area. And no one is getting up to the very top. Again, it’s an issue where there is not enough of a ledge. And the top is tiny. It’s like kitten size, but a kitten could never jump up there either. So far, the cats have investigated it, but only one has decided to actually lay in it and that was only the bottom cube for a short time. I’m hoping they will eventually use it more. I’ve placed it next to a tv stand and they all prefer to get on the top of the middle cube and jump off to the right to the tv stand rather that trying to jump off the platform on the left. Not really sure what the manufactures were thinking with this one. Or maybe it’s just designed for small, very nimble cats? I have a smaller tree by this same manufacturer but it’s a different layout and definitely more well thought out when it comes to the ledges. I really wanted to get the cats something new and excited but this is a bit of a disappointment.

The process was smooth, and I really appreciated their support. The cat tree itself is beautiful and well-designed, I've owned two in the past. It’s a great addition to my home, and my cats love it!
