How deep is the bowl itself?

The 0.75 cup bowl is 2 inches deep, the 1.75 cup bowl is 2.6 inches deep and the 3.25 cup bowl is 3.1 inches deep.

Is the coral design on the outside of the base or is it solid blue o the outside with coral on the inside so you can't really see it?

The outer side of the bowl is a teal color and the bottom of the outside base has a coral design. The coral design will not be seen unless flipped over on the bottom.

Finally! A well-designed stainless steel bowl!

We are really happy with this Frisco bowl. We are using it as a water dish - we love that it looks great but is stainless steel! Most of the well-designed pet dishes

We are really happy with this Frisco bowl. We are using it as a water dish - we love that it looks great but is stainless steel! Most of the well-designed pet dishes are made of different materials, and stainless steel is really all we have been able to use given our flat-faced Pugs who are extra-prone to infection,etc. as it just stays so much cleaner. Speaking of staying clean - LOVE that the stainless is an insert so we can pop it out to wash (either by hand or in the dishwasher)!

I love this bowl. The Frisco stainless steel water dish is perfect for food and/or water. I was able to take this dish to our cabin where we shared it with another family that had 2 dogs too. I was able to keep this bowl in my room at night filled with water for the dogs. Because of the way the stainless steel bowl fits in the plastic bowl it was very stable and didn’t get tipped over. Previous visits always ended with one of the dogs spilling the water dishes and making a mess. Also, with 2 dogs I was able to use both the stainless steel bowl and the plastic bowl for food for both dogs. Very convenient!

My one issue with the bowl is that it's very deep, so if you're using it for a cat they may get whisker fatigue- better for dogs! This is a good bowl for when I go out of town and I want to ensure the sitter is feeding him enough / he has enough extra food in case of emergency. Overall, Good product!

I love these bowls. I separate them for feeding twice a day. I use the metal one for water and the coral designed one for food. I have a very messy eater, she's a pit bull mix (35lbs) and the food bowl is the perfect size. For most of the day I sit the metal bowl inside the other and it serves as a great stable base so the water doesn't accidentally get knocked over.

It doesn’t move around on the cats when they are trying to eat, nor does it tip over easily if one of the cats knocks into it. It’s got a good depth to it, so it holds a decent amount of food for all of my cats. They give it four paws up, and so do I.

It’s convenient to remove and clean or refill. Our younger kitty has been known to tip other bowls over (though he’s pleading the 5th), with this one he hasn’t done that so huge bonus !
