My Ball Dog is a Fan

I have one dog who is a ball dog, but he’s pretty particular about what balls he’ll actually chase down. He has really taken to this ball as one of his favorites,

I have one dog who is a ball dog, but he’s pretty particular about what balls he’ll actually chase down. He has really taken to this ball as one of his favorites, the grooves allow for him to grip it in his front teeth and throw it for himself even. It’s a medium weight, and durable enough it seems to accommodate his desire to chew a ball in the sun after he fetches it. Yes, we have outdoor bone, sticks and many chewable outdoor dog toys but his preference is to fetch a ball, sit in the sun and chew it. This ball seems to check all the boxes for him and hopefully it will be durable in the long run to accommodate his ball chewing preference.

I received the ball a couple of days ago. Both of my dogs love playing ball and were excited about this ball. It has been a fun new toy and they have both played

I received the ball a couple of days ago. Both of my dogs love playing ball and were excited about this ball. It has been a fun new toy and they have both played with it. So far, it seems durable. If a ball can be chewed up, both of my dogs would do so. The ball seems to be holding up so far. The only negative to this ball is the size. It is just small enough to go under sofas and chairs. I am having to dig it out from behind things. If your furniture is lower you will not have this issue.

Drax the Destroyer

I was hoping Eleanor would like this since she is more gentle with balls - but she impressed. So then Drax got a hold of it and it didn't survive long in this world

I was hoping Eleanor would like this since she is more gentle with balls - but she impressed. So then Drax got a hold of it and it didn't survive long in this world :(. Drax is very abusive to.. well.. everything. He's the worlds biggest chewer (or at least a contender). Before the ball crossed the rainbow bridge I was impressed with it. It's a normal tennis ball size and it actually worked decently with a ball thrower. I think if Eleanor would have taken to it - it would have been a staple in our daily play. Unfortunately Drax destroyed it... and it's a very durable ball!

Fantastic design. As I am a dog trainer/behaviorist with 35 years experience; I surmise this design is to help prevent airway blockage should a dog choke on a ball. This one is great for small to medium sized dogs. As I currently have a Tibetan Mastiff weighing 150lbs I would not allow him to play with it. I have boarding dogs; ranging from Cocker Spaniels to French Bulldogs to medium sized mixes, who absolutely love it. It would also be great as a treat toy by stuffing the channels with dog safe peanut butter or large treats. I would definitely buy a few more of these especially if they came in more sizes for dogs on the larger end of medium and large - giant breeds.

I have a senior dog who isn't much of a chew-toy fan. However, i thought this Frisco Fetch Spiral might get her interested. I put a few small treats in the spirals

She took it into her kennel so she wouldn't be disturbed by our several cats. LOL! She now looks for me to get it down for her so she can enjoy it.

Light weight, bounces and easy to throw definitely got my dogs attention. The rubber is very soft so can only be used under supervision as my dogs may be Yorkshire Terriers but they are aggressive chewers and would chew it to pieces in no time. The curve of the rubber on the ball makes it an attractive chew toy for my dogs.
