I purchased this thinking our newly rescued bunny would love having a little hideaway plus it has the hay rack built in! Unfortunately, she never touched any of the hay inside the rack, nor was it really large enough to hold a days worth. She also refused to use the house and just shoved her bedding around to block the opening. Then she peed all over the one end/in the bedding. So it has been thrown away as it was raw wood which became saturated in urine.. Not something I can recommend.

We have a family of 4 guinea pigs all in an x-large, two level (very long, slow incline ramp, due to the reality that all guinea pigs having a back structure that is very susceptible to compression). They love this product's true hideaway due to its wood rather than clear plastic design. The hay rack is just a bonus place to introduce various hays into their diet. Well made, useful product that isn't plastic. Very well done.

Cheap Plywood

When I opened the large box (the house is quite huge) I noticed the layers in the wood and was disappointed that is was super cheap plywood. I went back and looked at the listing, I had somehow overlooked the fact that it does show that it is made out of plywood. It is really thin, but I can't say how sturdy it actually is since I cannot leave it unattended with a chinchilla because it would be highly unsafe for her to chew on it.

X-Large is Accurate

If you have more than one guinea pig or perhaps a rabbit, this is a great size. I however, failed to read the dimensions and is way, way too large for my one average

If you have more than one guinea pig or perhaps a rabbit, this is a great size. I however, failed to read the dimensions and is way, way too large for my one average size guinea pig. However, I bought this as a replacement for my original one and I can say the quality is great and my original one has lasted almost two years. The hay rack is wonderful.

Good for the price

I have chinchillas and they are notorious for chewing so I go through a lot of wooden houses for them. My only complaint is that they are able to remove the dowels

I have chinchillas and they are notorious for chewing so I go through a lot of wooden houses for them. My only complaint is that they are able to remove the dowels that make up the hay rack. Other than that this is pretty sturdy for the price. Will buy again if they go on sale.
