Watermelon Printed Dog Collar, by Frisco; medium size 14-20 inches neck, ¾ inches wide Look – The print on the collar is colorful – light blue background with watermelon slices (occasionally with sunglasses and stick figure style arms, legs and facial expressions). Two of my (dog owning) neighbors commented on “the cute collar”. Feel - The fabric is silky feeling (with just a bit of texture), flexible rather than stiff, and light weight. The buckle when closed is 2.25 inches long by ¾ inches. The entire collar felt light- weight in proportion to its medium size. Function – The buckle makes a clear “snap” sound when closing. The interior of the snapping mechanism has little pointy parts and grooves that presumedly help it to latch. It was easy to adjust the neck length, but the slider that holds the adjustment is too loose unless it is pushed close to the adjustment loop where there are 3 layers of fabric rather than just 2. The D ring for attaching the leash is in a sewn pocket. The ring has a ¾ inch interior diameter, sufficient for the 1.5 inch by ½ inch clasp on my matching leash. There is no separate ring for dog tags, but sufficient room on the ring for attaching the tags. The D ring is not so thick that it is hard to thread the tag ring onto it. The collar is strong enough to allow me to keep my dog under control on our walks, even when she pulls. On our walk on a cold, rainy day, the fabric retained its look, feel, and function.

The Frisco Watermelon Print Summer Dog Collar is well made and easy to adjust. I have not tried to wash it yet but it appears to be easily washable. The large size is great for my 75 lb Labradoodle. He gets clipped in the summer but is fuzzy now so it is great that the adjustment allows for this! The only issue with this collar is that it is a little hard to snap and unsnap the clasp.
