Would it fit a dachshund?

For the best fit, we recommend measuring your pet and matching your pet's measurements as closely as possible to the sizing chart. To measure your pet's body length, measure the base of the neck to the base of the tail. To measure the neck girth, measure around your pet's neck leaving room for two fingers and to measure chest girth, measure your pet's chest around the widest part. If your pet falls somewhere between two sizes, we advise ordering the larger of the two. For the complete sizing chart, please refer to the photo below or click the “Size” tab, next to the “Instructions” tab, just under the product photos.

Nice quality, looks great, easy to put on and take off

This jacket is better than we expected, especially given the price. It's not a heavy weight so not for bitter cold, but for our walks in upper 30's to low 50's

This jacket is better than we expected, especially given the price. It's not a heavy weight so not for bitter cold, but for our walks in upper 30's to low 50's (typical western NC average winter temps), it's perfect. We can layer a sweater underneath if it's on the colder end of that range, but I would rather choose something heavier in the mid 20's and below. As for size, Boone has a 10 1/2" neck and a 16 1/2" chest (measured with room for two fingers), with about a foot to 13 inches from his shoulder blades to the base of his tail. We ordered the small, which works for him the way we had hoped. I believe the medium would have also been fine, but we didn't want it to go too long. We're happy with the small size on him. We love the fact that it's reversible, and both sides really do look great. It's like having two jackets in one. The red side is a nice outdoorsy casual look, while the white side is a bit more upscale and trendy in appearance. The faux pockets are a great touch on the white side. I thought I would just be using the red side from seeing the online pictures, but the white side looks way better in person and we use it even more than the red. Other notes: We love the slot in the top for hooking onto D rings through the jacket. It doesn't have a "raincoat" look to it, but it is very water resistant. We went out yesterday and it started raining hard on us. When we got home his head and tail were soaked but his body was bone-dry. It's easy to put on and take off, and Boone is a very wiggly little dog so that's saying something. The slot for attaching to D-rings is appreciated. I can't think of a negative to mention. We're happy with the purchase.

Frankie is really stylin' in his new coat

Frankie is a tough guy to fit. He's supposedly a dachshund, but definitely more stocky and not quite as long as the other dachshunds I've had. This coat fits him

Frankie is a tough guy to fit. He's supposedly a dachshund, but definitely more stocky and not quite as long as the other dachshunds I've had. This coat fits him as well as can be expected around the middle, but neighbors have commented that I need to add a buttonhole at the end to accommodate his tail. (The bottom end flips up because of his tail.) All in all, this coat works for him. A size smaller wouldn't have stretched around his middle.

This works great over his harness (even with a front D ring for the leash on his chest) and resists rain/snow very well. When it’s extra cold, I layer a sweater underneath and put this on top. He is snug as a bug.

I’m not sure if it really does anything to keep him warm but it at least keeps the snow and rain off him a little bit when he’s running around the yard. It was a good deal for the price!

Lower quality

I was not very satisfied with this item. It is kind of flimsy and not as warm as others. Also the hole on the top for the leash was too small and I couldn't fit

I had to cut it larger to fit. It is not nearly as nice as the fur haven coat I got for my other dog. I would have ordered that same one again but it was not available.

This jacket is one of the best, and I bought it for our little man. Unfortunately, he doesn’t like it, and it freaked him out when we put it on him. He doesn’t understand it is to keep him warm when we take him outside and it’s cold. I tried to get him used to it, but at 11 years old, he’s just not having any of it. I recommend this jacket.

Truly cannot overstate how cute and jaunty this little jacket is on my dog (picture for proof), nor how easy & quick it is to put on and take off, BUT the velcro

Truly cannot overstate how cute and jaunty this little jacket is on my dog (picture for proof), nor how easy & quick it is to put on and take off, BUT the velcro didn't last a full season. It was only a few months before it wouldn't stay fastened anymore. It was so cheap I might just buy a replacement, but I would be willing to pay an additional $10 for something that would last.
