How well does the faux fur wash? Does it maintain its soft, fluffiness or does it mat and become stiff? Thanks

The manufacturer recommends to follow the washing instructions to maintain material integrity. The removable cover of the bedding can be machine washed separately in cold water only. Gentle cycle. Do not bleach. Tumble dry in low heat. Reshape as needed. For best results, Hang to dry. For the rest of the bed, spot clean stains and vacuum (using small handheld or attachment) when necessary.

My senior cat loves to sunbathe in a box by my sliding glass door. While he normally picks boxes over fancy beds, I wanted to spoil him for his 13th birthday. He absolutely loves his upgraded, fluffy new bed! It was easy to assemble, the perfect size with room to spare, and very aesthetically pleasing. My only complaint is that the sides feel rather thin and “square” (I wish there was more cushion and fluff) so not super comfy when my cat rests his head, but he doesn’t seem to mind. I highly recommend!

Pretty but hard edged top edge

While this was pretty in the picture and is definitely a sturdy item, the edge going around the top is very hard. The fur gives the impression that it's very soft

While this was pretty in the picture and is definitely a sturdy item, the edge going around the top is very hard. The fur gives the impression that it's very soft and fluffy but it's not. I put a folded blanket over it to give it cushioning. However, I wanted something that I could put in my living room that looked nicer... unfortunately this didn't make the cut.
