This dish is good quality, but it is more rounded than the typical 'pyramid' shape and sized pet dish. It takes up more room in a kennel, which is the reason I buy these dishes. For TNR recovery, the standard shaped 1.5 cup dish works well to keep water and food from spilling inside a recovery kennel for feral cats post surgery.

I am using this as a food bowl for my dog, Jack. It has a stainless-steel bowl that fits inside the sturdy plastic outer bowl, which is convenient for washing

I am using this as a food bowl for my dog, Jack. It has a stainless-steel bowl that fits inside the sturdy plastic outer bowl, which is convenient for washing. The inner bowl has a thin rubber seal under the rim which helps to keep it in place in the outer bowl. The outer bowl has a rubber rim along the bottom, which keeps it from sliding around on the floor. After feeding Jack, I just pop out the inner bowl for washing! Very nice decorative design, also.

This bowl is outstandingly made, & rather pretty & elegant for a food dish. The outside of the bowl provides decent lift from the floor & of course the inside metal

This bowl is outstandingly made, & rather pretty & elegant for a food dish. The outside of the bowl provides decent lift from the floor & of course the inside metal bowl comes out for better cleaning. The base is sturdy & has enough weight that I don't see it scooting around the floor. The base also has little cut outs on both side, for me this is for easy pick up. If necessary you could take the silver bowl out and use the base as a bowl as well. Yes, the silver bowl seems small compared to some dog bowls, so it would be best probably for a small to medium size dog. Or a large cat bowl if you have a fat cat like mine.
