The life vest itself does the job. We have a 60 lb golden doodle that has a deep chest and the large is plenty big. Medium was too small for her chest. She frequently swims in a lake and the vest is now smelling. It takes a bit for it to dry so it is beginning to smell like an old dish rag after a couple of summers.

Captain, my 35lb Blue Heeler, loves playing fetch in the lake. This life jacket helps keep him afloat when swimming, and makes me feel more comfortable taking him out on the boat. He is wearing a size medium. These balls last way longer than tennis balls. The orange color helps to find them easily.
