Is this an appropriate size for a gecko lizard or would a larger size be best?

No not at all depends on the type of gecko these people you see saying they got this for their lizards didn’t do any sort of research. I feel sorry for their pets being kept in this tiny thing. Almost geckos are going to need at least a 10gallon tank

Love the manageable size

Had tree frog tadpoles in plastic feeder that was on our deck...temps dropped, and two froze, so I got two of these. One to keep tadpoles in, and one to put frogs

Had tree frog tadpoles in plastic feeder that was on our deck...temps dropped, and two froze, so I got two of these. One to keep tadpoles in, and one to put frogs in with some feeder bugs...the size made it easy to care for them, and we had a pretty good outcome releasing most of them outside...learned a lot...this was our first experience raising and caring for frogs.

Perfect for fossorial dwarf tarantulas

I bought this for my Philippine Tangerine, and it is exactly what I needed. It opens from the top, so I can put in several inches of substrate for my obligate burrower

great tiny tank...tiny

So I had ordered this tank for my 2 hermit crabs to have more room. I'm lazy and didn't bother figuring out the actual size of this before ordering. It is so tiny

So I had ordered this tank for my 2 hermit crabs to have more room. I'm lazy and didn't bother figuring out the actual size of this before ordering. It is so tiny and in my opinion I don't think you could keep any kind of animal in here unless it was a tiny gold fish. I rated 5 stars because stars are supposed to be about the QUALITY of the product. I opened the box and checked out the tank but didn't attempt to use it. However, upon inspecting it it seemed of sound quality like the ones you'd get in person at a pet store. Just disappointed that my cheapy plastic carrier for the crabs is bigger than this tank. TLDR: do not recommend for any animals other than tiny fish. If you are looking for this tiny size then I'd highly recommend this tank!
