We were living in NY at the time when we bought our puppy and we knew we would have to get a winter outfit for him to even tolerate being outside. Apart from always trying to bite the elastic chin strap, he loved this hat. It is really cute and reversible, with the little ear holes. Even when he would shake it off his head, it will stay around his neck and keep him warm while outside. True to size.

Cute Pupper Hat
This beanie is reversible: a royal blue side, and a sort of chestnut or sienna brown side. The tag is on the blue side, so you may want to tear that off before use

Also, the blue side has a plain fleece sort of feel, while the brown side has a really cute knit pattern. There doesn't seem to be a front and back, so that may make it easier to put on, but I think it would have been nice to have the 'front' shorter, since it feels like in order to line up the ears and fit the hat to my pup's head, the front lays too close to their eyes. Also, the elastic band is plenty long. I wonder if it could be shorter? But it will dangle below the dog's chin regardless, so it wouldn't make a difference. My pups are about 85–90lb Pyr mixes, and this XL/XXL hat fit without any issues. I'm sure it would fit even larger heads. Only one pup was happy to wear it longer than a moment, but the pictures I got are very cute! So seasonal.

Buddy loves his beanie!
This beanie looks so cute on Buddy, the orange and green are perfect for fall. The size I ordered was XL/XXL. He's an 85lb pit mix and it seems to fit him well

The stretchy cord with the toggle fastener allowed the beanie to be secured comfortably. I think my favorite part of this is his ears sticking out of the ear holes. The sweater side gives me 90s grunge rock coffee shop vibes while the orange fleece side would be great for Halloween or even just a walk in the woods adding visibility. I was thinking about customizing with a patch or a pin and play around with different looks. On the practical side the material feels like it will hold up with washing and could provide warmth in the colder months.

And I think it's because their ears were free. They both tolerated wearing it so well. It's soft, and the little cinch strap under their chin kept the hat on well while they were moving around. Keep in mind that if your dog is pawing at the hat, it will still slide right off. It would fit more securely on dogs with larger, floppier ears. Both of my pups have smaller ears, and they do not help keep the hat in place. In my opinion, this would be a good hat for fall days rather than winter days. The material is not very thick and insulated. It would be like wearing a lightweight beanie instead of a heavy winter beanie (if that comparison helps you). My dogs are also right in between sizes (18" around their head). We went with the XL/XXL to be safe. It is a little large on them, but I'm afraid the M/L might have been too small. Overall, a great item... But for dogs it's more fun than practical!
