The zipper and snap closure works well and covers a good amount of his belly, and doesn’t interfere with him going to the bathroom. The harness also fits well under it. Really nice texture and feel to the coat. Love the vintage stripes, or can reverse to solid orange. It has its own pocket to stuff itself into for packing. The

The negatives: The back hip corner areas kept sticking out. I added an elastic bedsheet corner keeper to go under his belly and now it fits him perfectly. It might be just his shape, he has a broad chest but a very skinny waist. The velcro closure is my second complaint. After opening and closing it two times, it's full of dog hair. Snaps or a zipper would be better, but the velcro seems good at retaining heat. I'm now keeping it closed and slipping it over his head, but it's tight getting his legs and paws through. Rufus is 60lbs with a 27" chest and wearing the XL.
