Can you tell me the size of this?

When not expanded this product is 11 inches in width, 11 inches in height, and 17.3 inches in length. When fully expanded it is 20.5 inches in width, 11 inches in height, and 17.3 inches in length.

Great Carrier for Travel of all kinds

This carrier is pretty great! It has a lot of openings for your fur baby to go in and out of when unzipped. It's big enough for them to even stretch and nap comfortably

This has already gotten amazing ratings, and I'm adding mine. I have gone back and forth from Boston to NY about 20 times, with Queenie the chihuahua mix (~11 lbs, 11 inches tall unless she "sits"). I sit in the front seat with one side expanded. She can turn around multiple times before laying down and even stretch out to the expanded side. It took a bit of training, since we don't have her crate-trained. But I believe she loves it because when she starts to hear car sounds, she puts her head down immediately and pretty much goes to sleep inside. The only thing is that the latch inside that is supposed to attach to her collar came loose like 2 weeks after we got it. I sewed another one in that was longer, but that's still not enough for me to dock a star because it's just so great. Thanks Chewy!

My cat absolutely hated the plastic hard carrier she had for years. This shows up, and she will nap in it at home! The extensibility is great, she can see out 4

My cat absolutely hated the plastic hard carrier she had for years. This shows up, and she will nap in it at home! The extensibility is great, she can see out 4 sides and still feel safe. The base is removable, but firm, carpeted so she can grip well and not slide around. It’s easy to carry, with a padded shoulder strap, as well as handles. I’m very pleased, it seems just about perfect.

very mixed bag

USE-CASE: Smallish older cat, who uses it as her personal retreat. NEGATIVES: 1. Does NOT stand upright as shown in the pic: One end open + side "tent" extended

USE-CASE: Smallish older cat, who uses it as her personal retreat. NEGATIVES: 1. Does NOT stand upright as shown in the pic: One end open + side "tent" extended but non-passable. To stand upright, both ends must be zipped. Okay for me, because my cat likes having the side "porch" as the opening instead. 2. No padded floor when side-tent is extended. Only the thin slick fabric that separates the folded-up side-tent from the main compartment. IOW, with the side-tent extended, your animal doesn't actually have a double-sized sprawl area -- or at least not one with a continuous floor. Again, okay with my little old kitty. POSITIVES: 1. A non-ideal side-tent is better than no side-tent at all. Not a common feature. 2. The ability to fold up compactly is a big plus for anyone who intends to use this only as a carrier, and store away the rest of the time. Unfortunate the trade-off is the inability to stand upright with an end flap open. VERDICT: Could have been a five-star, had the design flaws noted above been addressed.

I fell in love with the opening side right away! But the descriptions make it confusing as it seems that both sides can open which isn’t the case. Either way, I think the extra room in this design is so fun and makes car rides less scary; it’s great that it can also be closed up too. I love there are plenty of different openings so you don’t have to wrestle with the cat to get in either. The bottom board has nice fabric and is overall durable but I still put a blanket in for more comfort; he will even lay in it around the house. At first it seems like the board is too big but fits perfectly when zipping up the opening. I wish there was a little more storage on the one side but all in all this has been a great purchase and it has been adaptable as my kitten has grown. Bonus that it comes with the collapsible dish too.

Too short and needs better zippers

I wanted an expandable carrier for a 7 hour car trip so my cat could stretch out a little. This carrier was too short for my 14 lb cat even though it said Medium

I wanted an expandable carrier for a 7 hour car trip so my cat could stretch out a little. This carrier was too short for my 14 lb cat even though it said Medium. I didn’t see one that expanded but wasn’t airline approved and I guess 11” is the standard. It also could have better quality zippers. You really need two hands to zip this up so it is difficult trying to keep the cat from escaping and zip it up. It worked okay for my other cat that is only 10 lbs but he seemed to crouch down a little too. He seemed to enjoy the extra room when expanded. I like that it has several zippers so you can go at it from sides, top and expanded side. I should have measured my cat before purchasing. I do think it is a great carrier for a maybe 8lb cat.
