I'm not understanding how this product is hamster approved. It lasted about 6 months due to our hamster chewing it. My daughter cleans his cage weekly and we were going to order him a new one because it had gotten so chewed up. However, I didn't realize he had exposed part of the sharp structure at the bottom making it a safety issues. Our sweet guy ended up dying because of getting stabbed by the sharp edges. It seemed like a good purchase at first, but it did not last and eventually let to our pet's death. Unfortunately, I cannot recommend this product at all! It needs to be constructed better and with different material. Don't make the same mistake we did! A pets death can break a child's heart and I completely regret making this purchase!
