Instructions
Dirty bird feeders spread disease. We recommend cleaning your feeders weekly, or monthly at a minimum. Clean your feeders outdoors with a large bucket, and always wear gloves when cleaning. Soak your feeder in a 9:1 solution of water and bleach for 15 minutes. Then use a bird feeder brush to scrub the feeder with dish soap and water. Refill when completely dry.
The key to keeping a feeder successfully squirrel-proofed is the placement. Place a bird feeder 4 feet from the ground and 8 feet from anything a squirrel can jump from. When hanging from a pole by a hook, it is recommended that the hook have at least a 16” distance from the pole. Placing a baffle on the pole or having a caged feeder will also help to ensure squirrel-proof success.

I like to feeder to keep squirrels away but the very bottom of the feeder collects seed and turns moldy. I tried cleaning by soaking in hot water but it does not come out. I tried taking the feeder apart but that was not possible due to construction. I make sure I fill feeder with fresh seed every day to keep birds safe.
So far no squirrels
I have a gray squirrel that has been marauding around my feeders recently. Now, he/she is simply eating the leftovers on the ground. Perfect.

Squirrels frustrated, gave up trying

I have some very pesky (and smart) squirrels who have done minor damage to my other “squirrel resistant” feeder which has weight sensitive perches, closing off access to heavier birds and squirrels. One squirrel tried to pry open the bottom of the feeder to release the seed. The new “squirrel resistant” feeder truly is. After trying to gain access the first day it was up, the squirrels got frustrated and leave it alone. I just wish my cardinals and other “medium sized birds could gain access, but that might allow for squirrels to be able to squeeze through.
Not Cardinal friendly
Bought this to keep squirrels out of our cardinal feeder, but the holes are too small for the Cardinals to fit through. Incorrect information in the advertising

It works!
I have a ton of squirrels and a ton of finches, wrens & sparrows. Now there is seed for them to eat because the squirrels can’t get to it!

I have been pleasantly surprised by this feeder. The wire "cage" practically disappears from a distance so it's easy to see the sparrows and other small birds that visit. It's near a larger feeder often dominated by blue jays and other larger birds, with this becoming the small bird haven. It's easy to open and close with a gasket to secure the lid. So far, I've had zero issues with squirrels. I have a baffle on my other feeder and after several weeks, I haven't needed one for this feeder.
Birds can't get to food.
Cage around seed tube is way too big for small to medium sized birds to reach the seeds. Probably would work for crows but not the birds I am trying to feed.
