Catnip may be sprinkled across the surface of the scratcher. Some catnip may fall inside but does not fall completely through to the floor below.

Not my cat's preferred scratch box

I have seen other cats go to town on this wavy scratcher box, but not my Wilbur. But he's a pretty unusual cat. His previous owners were clearly not that into inrichment

I have seen other cats go to town on this wavy scratcher box, but not my Wilbur. But he's a pretty unusual cat. His previous owners were clearly not that into inrichment. So this review is just a head's up that some cats aren't digging wavy scratchers. Otherwise, it's well-made.

Cat Scratching or Bed?

My three cats love this scratching "cradle" They take turns sleeping on it too. They use the scratcher and not my furniture. I think the catnip sprinkled in it

My three cats love this scratching "cradle" They take turns sleeping on it too. They use the scratcher and not my furniture. I think the catnip sprinkled in it helps to attract them and the feel of the cardboard keeps them using it. This is my second one and it gets a lot of use. The first one lasted almost 2 years!

My Cat's favorite shape

I've tried other "wave" style cat scratchers. This S-curve shape is the one he likes best. He stands his rear legs on the high side and claws into the trench. Enthusiastically

first, on the human side, this is a strong, sturdy cardboard scratcher. I thought it was well-worth the price. However...my cats were "bleh." They go after the flat cardboard scratcher we've still got, they go nuts over the cardboard scratcher inset of a couple of the toys we've got, but they ignore & don't like this wavy thing. Not the product's fault. I think I just have weird cats. These furballs don't even like *catnip*...nor valerian...nor silvervine...nor any of the other things that folks say cats like. So if you know your cats like the wavy cardboard scratchers, yes, this is a good buy.

I have tried many cat scratchers. I must have a cat who loves to scratch on just about anything. She turns nothing down. With cardboard scratchers, I always return to Frisco and will stick with them from now on unless the quality changes. Does Keavy create a mess with bits of cardboard pieces after a long scratch session? Yes. It's cardboard! I don't like it, but it's not a big deal to gather the bits in my hands to toss away between vacuuming the floor. Plus, a simple cardboard scratcher is less expensive than a specialized or wicker one. I'd love to buy a nice wicker-style scratcher. Maybe one day. I'm happy enough to purchase a new cardboard scratcher once a year for my furry gal. I keep three in the house, and she loves them all. If she needs to take herself away from any stress, she'll scratch then sit on her scratcher and either talk to me or watch me. I've learned that whenever Keavy needs me to pay attention to her, she'll use her scratcher to make me take notice. It's part of our shared language :)
