About Full Moon Dog Treats

100% Human Grade Dog Treats

Full Moon believes dogs deserve food that’s every bit as good as what we humans feed ourselves, so they try to choose the best every step of the way. Every Full Moon treat starts with USDA-approved, farm-raised meats carefully cooked in small batches, for a quality and taste that’s evident in every bite. You’ll notice the difference the second you open the bag.

Naturally Healthy and Tasty

Regionally sourced, cage-free US poultry, Heritage US pork and ranch-raised cattle fed an all-natural diet form the foundation for all Full Moon’s meaty treats. Full Moon uses only meat from healthy, farm-raised animals and never adds any artificial colors or preservatives to their treats. Reward your pup the way nature intended, with treats full of the natural protein he needs to feel his best.

Made In The USA

Full Moon makes all their treats in fully GFSI-compliant, BRC or SQF Food Safety Standards-audited kitchens. Unlike other companies, who use high heat thermal extrusion to make their foods and treats, they slow cook their recipes under low heat to retain more of the raw ingredients’ natural nutrients and flavor. It’s a wholesome difference your pet will taste and one you’ll appreciate, too.

Raised with Care

Raising animals the right way not only guarantees a better product, it’s simply the right thing to do. Full Moon works with its family farmers across the US to ensure that only the highest ethical standards are employed in raising the poultry, pork and cattle that goes into their treats.

Quality Ingredients

Full Moon takes pride in the quality of their ingredients, and no ingredient is more important than the protein they pack into every human-grade treat. They use USDA-inspected meats sourced from Perdue Farms—the same high-quality, antibiotic-free Perdue meats you see at your local store. For over 100 years, Perdue has worked with its farmers to raise animals right and thoughtfully tend the land.

About Full Moon Pet Treats

Full Moon is a fourth generation, family-owned company that’s been making naturally delicious pet treats since 2011. The idea for Full Moon Treats was born when founder Ryan Perdue grew frustrated with all the low quality dog treats made with low-grade meat from places like China and cheap fillers like corn. Today, they make a range of great-tasting, nutritious treats made from simple, honest recipes and 100% natural ingredients. Each recipe uses USDA-approved, human-grade meat and is cooked right here in the USA in Full Moon’s very own kitchens.

Do you have Full Moon treats with duck

Can these easily be broken into small pieces for training small dogs? I've gotten other brands that are nearly impossible to break.
Answer by ChewyOct 13, 2018
These treats aren't soft, but can be broken or snapped into smaller pieces.

You mention that your treats are "human grade." Is this a marketing term? Is this different from "food grade?"
Answer by ChewyMar 07, 2019
The term "human grade" in pet food means the finished product is legally suitable and approved as nourishment for humans. It is much more rigorously regulated than foods normally made for animals. The term "food grade" is an adjective that means the material or product at hand is either fit for human or animal consumption, or, more commonly, is at least permitted to come into contact with food like a plastic food storage container.

are these USA sourced and processed in USA
Answer by ChewyJan 07, 2019
These products are made in the USA with USA-grown Purdue© chicken.

Covered in mold

Absolutely revolting. I opened the bag Full Moon chicken jerky to find the treats covered with disgusting mold. Unacceptable. These treats were bought in early May 2022 and opened a week later. The expiration date was March 2024. I want a refund. The same thing occurred with Bones and Chews beef jerky treats a short time ago. Those were replaced by Chewy. I've had it! No more replacements. I want a refund. I have loved Chewy for years and have highly recommended the company. However, no more. What has happened to Chewy in the last few months?

Dogs like them but too hard for my old man

My younger dogs love these. My old man with bad teeth would like to love them but he is unable to chew them. Looking for a softer option, with the same quality of ingredients for him. For "normal" dogs, I highly recommend.

Minimal Ingredients/fillers make a great treat!

My super picky dog loves these treats. My dog does not like snacks that have numerous ingredients and fillers. This chicken jerky only has a few ingredients and lots of protein. I bought this as an alternative to Spot Farms chicken jerky (because Chewy was sold out of Spot Farms for a long time), and thankfully my dog likes this Full Moon chicken jerky too.

My dogs love these!

These are currently my dogs favorite treat! They go nuts for them! And both of them are pretty picky. I use them as a treat, they do take the dogs (35lb and 65lb dog) a minute or two to chew through them, but I wouldn't use them as a chew. Just treat.

Moldy chicken jerky

I bought these in late January and opened the bag in late March. Treats looked and smelled ok. But they didn't stay that way as a while mold covered the remaining 4 jerky strips. Too bad, our dogs enjoy jerky treats, but I won't take the chance and buy them again.

Treats for Bernie

The Full Moon Chicken Jerky is the only treat that Bernie will eat. I have tried many other brands. He is a twelve yr old mixed breed (Jack Russell, chihuahua, weiner dog) He is very picky about everything.

Another Great Treat

My little Pom Pom is so finicky and has a sensitive tummy, I need to be very careful on what food and treats he eats. Full Moon is one of his favorite treats. He also has had no tummy issues after eating.

WOW! Dogs love it!

All 3 of our little Yorkies really love this stuff! Ravenous when I get the bag out for a treat. Only problem I had was that one dog liked it so much that she would wolf it down and choked. Problem resolved by cutting the treat in very small pieces. Had given larger pieces to make them slow down, but this particular dog loved it so much she was not waiting to chew it up enough. After cutting pieces very small( would not be necessary with larger dogs,or probably your dog) no further difficulty. Exceptional quality and apparently taste! Definitely will buy again.

Leader in the search of 3

I have always rescued larger breeds because of the need. But the company that has been my go to for treats for large breeds has gone as many companies due to the ongoing of covid. So I looked at all of the offerings I could find in Chewy's coffers (without sweet potatoes), and came up with 3. One turned out to be beef and two chicken. I bought the smallest bag available of each. Of the two tried so far this is the leader. When I opened the bag I was not crazy about the smell but my girls had no problem with them. The down side which has been the frustration continually, is the size large on everything I have found. With Chewy, grocery stores, online, or pet stores has been over stated. Large seems to mean large for medium dogs. The "Smokehouse" line available here at Chewy does make some long lasting products when available. But most are special occasions treats because of my budget/income. Some I am and my vet is concerned about the wear on teeth as they are real bones. But the girls love them, again but they are not cheap and probably a good thing for older and getting older large dogs. I said there was three. the third presents as the best, but I did not notice the third was from China until they were delivered. But it was stated they are inspected by U.S. persons ......USDA for pets ??? It would be nice if it existed.

he really likes it!

My good boy LOVES this treat and I LOVE that it’s healthy and clean eating for his tummy. In case you are curious, he is a VERY picky eater so I was pleased to find something he loves.
