Description

Nail care is one of the most important and somewhat misunderstood areas of pet care for most pet owners. Because nails require clipping and grinding, many pet parents are afraid of injuring their pets, but ignoring nail care is just as harmful. FURminator's unique, proprietary nail care solutions are completely safe and easy to use, thus eliminating the discomfort from the process, not only for pets but also for their owners.

Key Benefits
  • Features an adjustable guide to make nail trimming efficient and painless, eliminating sore paws, legs and hips.
  • Sharp, stainless steel cutting edge ensures a clean, even cut without crushing the nail.
  • Non-slip, ergonomic handle for complete control.
  • Anti-microbial plastic helps keep germs and bacteria to a minimum.
  • Regular trimming (recommended every 3-4 weeks) promotes comfort and health.

Instructions
  • Monitor your pet's nails to avoid overgrowth.
  • Pets' nails should not touch the floor when standing. Regular maintenance is important for the health and comfort of your pet.
  • Before starting, note where the dead nail ends and where the live part, the quick, starts. Hold the paw firmly while gently pressing the base of each nail with your thumb.
  • Use the nut on the outside of the nail guide to adjust desired cutting depth.
  • Until you and your pet are comfortable, take small clips. Cut off just a little bit every few days.

Don't Dread the Shed

Dealing with shedding feels like an uphill battle to most dog lovers. While you may never stop your precious furballs from shedding, you can help to reduce the amount of hair your pet sheds with FURminator. Designed by a professional groomer, this tool reaches beyond the topcoat to remove loose hair from the undercoat. It pulls away loose hair without hurting your dog's skin or damaging his undercoat.

Don't Dread the Shed
The Gentle Grooming Solution

The Gentle Grooming Solution

Chances are, if you're a pet parent, it shows—and not always in a good way. From your couch to your favorite sweater, dog hair can get everywhere. FURminator products work to tackle your shedding problems in the comfort of your own home by targeting the loose hairs of your pal's undercoat without hurting your pup.

The FURminator Advantage

When it comes to fur, no two breeds are alike. For example, did you know that some dogs have two coats? There's a topcoat—the fur you see—and an undercoat, which you don't. With a unique deShedding edge, FURminator reaches through the topcoat to remove loose hair hiding in the undercoat. Regular brushing grooms your pup's topcoat, but only de-shedding removes the loose hairs before they shed.

The FURminator Advantage
Less Hair, Less Cleaning

Less Hair, Less Cleaning

FURminator deShedding tools can help cut down on your cleaning time by removing loose hair before it ends up around the house. That's because most of the hair you get stuck cleaning up—yes, including those furry tumbleweeds—is mostly from your dog's undercoat. This hair gets trapped under the topcoat and then sheds pretty much everywhere—and that is where the FURminator can help.

* With regular use.

Not strong enough for thick nails

By danemom on Nov 28, 2020

i needed a new, sharp pair of clippers and bought the furminator clippers. however, either i don't have enough strength in my old hands, or these are just not strong or sharp enough for thick nails. i have a black-nailed great dane (approx 110#)

does not cleanly clip nails on my kitten

    By Bianca1 on Sep 11, 2020

I’m a first time kitten owner, so I picked this set because of all the good reviews. I should have done my research properly because it does not smoothly cut my kittens nails. They’re left jagged and crushed, and I’m worried that I’ve hurt him. He’s so laid back and quiet that I don’t know how he feels about the clippers, but his nails seem like they could’ve been damaged. I will use them very infrequently until he gets older.

    Caution for cats.

By Tiajan on Sep 9, 2020

This is definitely not for kittens. It worked on the cats but it's the first time when both of them complained. I hadn't touched the quick or anything. I believe the cats were complaining about the size of it. They tolerated it enough for me to trim all of their claws. It works fine for dogs.

I got it because it was from FURminator but...

By llll on Sep 23, 2020

The clipper was so dull that it didn’t even cut a piece of paper. The small clippers (that look like scissors) were breaking their nails so I thought this would be a stronger choice. Just nope.

    Clippers for junior

By hounddog on Sep 13, 2020

Very disappointed with this product. Does not cut well at all. More like ripping bark from a tree. Don't no if they make better ones??????

I’m try to be fair, but can’t suggest these

By animalFARM on Apr 7, 2020

Before I begin - I think these worked well for patient, calm, small breed dogs, but I don’t like these for cats. I was excited to have a nice pair of clippers for the cats, but this has been underwhelming and more of a hassle. The “switch” that stops/locks the clippers from retracting is loose and locks itself while you’re using it- which is annoying when your trying to work precisely and quickly with a cat with little patience. I find that you have to use it vertically or you’ll crush your cats nails off rather than cut. Also, I’m my experience, the guard is loose and will not hold a tightening even with pliers- and isn’t a reliable enough to assume you’re not going to cut too deep. I don’t like to be wasteful, and I wanted something that would last, but I feel these are a liability for cat nail clipping. … more

    DO NOT BUY THESE

By Nats on Jul 4, 2020

I’m posting this review anywhere I can. These clippers destroyed my baby’s nail. It does not cut the nail, it crushes it. Poor baby was in so much distress and I didn’t understand why until I found the crushed nail on the floor. This item should not be sold.

By Robyn on Aug 21, 2020

I was disappointed in these clippers as it seems to shred my poor kitties nails.

Disappointed. Crushes Nail Instead of Clipping

By MegL on Apr 12, 2020

When I ordered this product, it was to replace the old ones I have that I decided needed replaced. I was excited to get these and use them on my small/medium size dog. When I went to clip, they did not even clip the whole nail. It only cut part of the nail while crushing it. I had to finish his other 3 paws with the old ones that worked better!
