Description

Nail care is one of the most important and somewhat misunderstood areas of pet care for most pet owners. Because nails require clipping and grinding, many pet parents are afraid of injuring their pets, but ignoring nail care is just as harmful. FURminator's unique, proprietary nail care solutions are completely safe and easy to use, thus eliminating the discomfort from the process, not only for pets but also for their owners.

Key Benefits
  • Features an adjustable guide to make nail trimming efficient and painless, eliminating sore paws, legs and hips.
  • Sharp, stainless steel cutting edge ensures a clean, even cut without crushing the nail.
  • Non-slip, ergonomic handle for complete control.
  • Anti-microbial plastic helps keep germs and bacteria to a minimum.
  • Regular trimming (recommended every 3-4 weeks) promotes comfort and health.

Instructions
  • Monitor your pet's nails to avoid overgrowth.
  • Pets' nails should not touch the floor when standing. Regular maintenance is important for the health and comfort of your pet.
  • Before starting, note where the dead nail ends and where the live part, the quick, starts. Hold the paw firmly while gently pressing the base of each nail with your thumb.
  • Use the nut on the outside of the nail guide to adjust desired cutting depth.
  • Until you and your pet are comfortable, take small clips. Cut off just a little bit every few days.

Don't Dread the Shed

Dealing with shedding feels like an uphill battle to most dog lovers. While you may never stop your precious furballs from shedding, you can help to reduce the amount of hair your pet sheds with FURminator. Designed by a professional groomer, this tool reaches beyond the topcoat to remove loose hair from the undercoat. It pulls away loose hair without hurting your dog's skin or damaging his undercoat.

Don't Dread the Shed
The Gentle Grooming Solution

The Gentle Grooming Solution

Chances are, if you're a pet parent, it shows—and not always in a good way. From your couch to your favorite sweater, dog hair can get everywhere. FURminator products work to tackle your shedding problems in the comfort of your own home by targeting the loose hairs of your pal's undercoat without hurting your pup.

The FURminator Advantage

When it comes to fur, no two breeds are alike. For example, did you know that some dogs have two coats? There's a topcoat—the fur you see—and an undercoat, which you don't. With a unique deShedding edge, FURminator reaches through the topcoat to remove loose hair hiding in the undercoat. Regular brushing grooms your pup's topcoat, but only de-shedding removes the loose hairs before they shed.

The FURminator Advantage
Less Hair, Less Cleaning

Less Hair, Less Cleaning

FURminator deShedding tools can help cut down on your cleaning time by removing loose hair before it ends up around the house. That's because most of the hair you get stuck cleaning up—yes, including those furry tumbleweeds—is mostly from your dog's undercoat. This hair gets trapped under the topcoat and then sheds pretty much everywhere—and that is where the FURminator can help.

* With regular use.

I’m try to be fair, but can’t suggest these

    By on

Before I begin - I think these worked well for patient, calm, small breed dogs, but I don’t like these for cats. I was excited to have a nice pair of clippers for the cats, but this has been underwhelming and more of a hassle. The “switch” that stops/locks the clippers from retracting is loose and locks itself while you’re using it- which is annoying when your trying to work precisely and quickly with a cat with little patience. I find that you have to use it vertically or you’ll crush your cats nails off rather than cut. Also, I’m my experience, the guard is loose and will not hold a tightening even with pliers- and isn’t a reliable enough to assume you’re not going to cut too deep. It also makes it hard to see what you’re doing as it blocks the view. I wish I had just bought small inexpensive cat clippers. I don’t like to be wasteful, and I wanted something that would last, but I feel these are a liability for cat nail clipping. … more

Disappointed. Crushes Nail Instead of Clipping

    By on

When I ordered this product, it was to replace the old ones I have that I decided needed replaced. I was excited to get these and use them on my small/medium size dog. When I went to clip, they did not even clip the whole nail. It only cut part of the nail while crushing it. I had to finish his other 3 paws with the old ones that worked better!

    Look and feel nice

I really like the way the Clippers feel in my hand not too late not too heavy I thought they would be perfect for my dogs the last pair of Clippers that I had snapped when clipping my dog's nails I thought these ones were going to be great due to the fact they looked heavy Duty normally I clip my dog's nails in the shower after their bath so that they are softer but that didn't work this time they left small sniggles on some of the nails work great for my small dog and cats

    Love these

I just got these and they work perfect for our XLARGE 100lb dog! He has huge nails and they grow like crazy. I was hesitant to trim them, but these clippers have a back that makes it impossible to over cut them! The clipper goes through without stressing your hand. I am going to order a grinder so there are no sharp edges to scratch the grandkids. Recommend these!!!!

    Best clippers so far

    By on

I have wrist damage that make many nail clippers hard to use, this is about our tenth pair, I can use these with minimal discomfort. They cut through the nails quickly and cleanly. The nail guard can be removed. The switch to unlock them is small and poorly positioned, but that's a small manageable issue.

Crushes instead of cutting the nails

    By on

These clippers are a terrible disappointment. I chose them over the others because of the Furminator brand name. Big mistake. Besides being clunky to handle, they twist and crush the nail 80% of the time, and that was with the dog. I can't imagine using them on the cat, who was my primary reason for the purchase in the first place.

    Not for Cats

If you have cats these are much too large to be functional for them.

    Great Nail Clippers

    By on

I've always used this kind because of the back it has a metal brace on it so that you would only take a little at a time off and not cut the quick. My baby loves this kind.

    Terrible Clippers

    By on

I thought being a brand-name would make these clippers a worthy product but nothing could be further from the truth. The clippers are dull and pinch instead quickly clipping the nail. I cut my dogs' nails about every two weeks with no problems. The first time I tried using this pair of clippers on my big dog he cried out and jerked away. I tried a second time with the same results. I then tried my little dog's nails and she cried as well. Terrible, terrible product.
