Grinder, (2) bands, (4) AA alkaline batteries
I should have trusted the previous reviews. This nail grinder is mediocre at best. The sandpaper ring is very loosely attached: slight pressure makes it pop off the holder and harder pressure just makes it stop spinning. You're supposed to be able to adjust that using a small screwdriver but it always loosens before I'm done with a nail grinding session. I haven't experienced any issues with the battery pack at least.
File attachments do not stick to rotary attachment. Just spins in place. Tried other file circle does the same thing. Off brand works better. Bought online having trouble returning
The battery holder doesn't fit, causing a loud vibrating noise. My pet already hates having his nails trimmed so this noise does not help.
My dog is very well behaved for nail trimmings, however this grinder takes forever...It worked, I just didn't realize it would take so long to trim 1 nail.
I loved the light and the guard. The pup hated everything about it. It's simply too noisy. If there were a way to silence the mechanism, it might be a better tool. Suffice to say, zero nails ground, so it's a no-go for this family.
When this thing needs new batteries I will throw it away! Extremely hard to take apart and put back together! Top many options out there to ever purchase again!
This nail grinder takes forever to make just a little difference. Our poor dog became so annoyed with the noise, we aborted mission and took her to the groomer. The plastic also started to separate just putting the batteries in.
I've had this nail grinder for 3 years now. I see a lot of negative reviews for it which is unfortunate because I absolutely love it! I can count on 1 hand how many times I've had to change the batteries which is a huge plus. I use this grinder weekly on my lab/st bernard mix. Due to a paw/nail injury as a puppy he does NOT like his nails to be clipped but he tolerates the grinder just fine. This is a great tool to keep his nails nice and short. The grinder has a safety feature that will cause it to stop grinding if too much pressure is put on it, which I appreciate since I can't really tell if I'm pressing too hard or if it's causing my dog discomfort. This feature can be sensitive, but it gets the job done. The light is an added bonus. My only complaint is the plastic piece that covers the sanding disk as it can be difficult to get a wiggly paw in the right position, but I like that it's keeping my dog safe from accidentally sanding his paw so it's a catch 22 if you ask me. I've considered buying a new unit but decide against it every time because I like this one so much. I've hardly had to replace the sanding disks either which surprises me because I use it so often. I'll run my own nails over it to see if it's too worn down and it will file my nails just fine so I wait to change out the disk until there isn't much grit left to it. Overall I think it's a great grinder and have recommended it to friends.
My cat was scared of the noise. And it was messier than regular clippers
It's not great, it's not terrible. Have to mess with the batteries to keep it running sometimes. Grinds nails well and dogs don't mind it when it's working well but almost never have an issue free session.
