This natural wood accessory is appropriate for aquarium and terrarium use. For aquarium use, it is recommended to pre-soak natural woods in a separate tub of water and changing the water daily. This can be done for up to two weeks and will help remove excess tannins, a non-toxic organic substance, that can dye your tank water a tea color. Use a clean brush to remove any extra debris and consider boiling the wood for one hour to sterilize before adding to your aquarium.

Spiderwood is suitable for crested geckos. It is safe for all terrarium types, birds and freshwater aquariums. Check for any edges that might be too rough and sand them down if needed.

Nice piece of wood but......

The piece of wood was very nice. Fit my aquarium perfectly. However I lost a couple of branches off of it due to it being packaged in the same box with a 40 can

The piece of wood was very nice. Fit my aquarium perfectly. However I lost a couple of branches off of it due to it being packaged in the same box with a 40 can pack of wet cat food. An item like this definitely should have been packaged separately even if it was put in a larger box together with the cat food

I’m very happy with this spider wood. It’s bigger than I expected and is just perfect. I’m boiling it and letting it soak for a few days to get the tannins out

Concerning residue/fungus growth

The wood immediately started growing a white slimy cloud like fungus or something all over it. Removed it from the tank put it in a quarantine tank and dried it
