Vittles Vault pet food containers and GAMMA Seal Lids are made in the USA.

Can I fit a full bag of horse feed in this? We currently use trash barrels. I also need to be able to get a horse feed scoop in, is the opening big enough?

Depending on the size of horse feed it should fit, the opening is 11 inches wide.

Is normal dish soap used to clean after each use? What soap is recommended to cut through the oils so they come out?

You can wash this food container as many times as needed. You can use traditional dish washing soap and water.

These are so so great and work very well! This is the third of these I've gotten, I have two smaller ones for cat food and chicken scratch and my mom has several at her house she uses for cat food. I got this one for the 50 lb bags of chicken feed. All of them fit the amount they say perfectly. The lids go on tightly but aren't hard to get off. Keeps the food dry and safe from bugs and critters (including the critters the food is for) and I never smell the food at all through them. Never had a problem with any of them. They're sturdy enough that I can carry the 50 lb one around while it's full and not even think about having to worry about it breaking. If they tip over, that lid doesn't pop off, I don't have to worry about it spilling at all. I've considered getting some for storing other things like ice melt salt just because they seal so well and are sturdy and easy to open and move.

The lid is kinda of a pain to seal properly. Idk if it’s the threads or what but it doesn’t seem like it always gets a tight seal and the cap slides around with it tightened down. So I always have to mess with it a bit. It’s kinda finicky. Expected better quality for the price and from the brand. I just wanna be able to spin the thing closed and not have to open and close it multiple times to get a proper seal. Though I have noticed the food is staying fresher than my old bin that was definitely not doing its job.

I got this for my dog’s kibble, and it’s with the price. It fits the full bag of food with room for a food scoop. The only challenge is lining up the grooves the first time to close it but it might be a user problem. I think this is the last food bin I ever purchased, I’m so confident.

This is my third purchase of these containers. I have had one for over 3 years outside for my wild bird food. Critters have never been able to get into it. I have another inside for dog food so that I can by larger bags at lower cost and keep it fresh. This third container will be used for excess dog food that doesn't fit in the first. Suggest you buy bigger than you think you need.

Came broken

It literally came broken. It's not able to be opened because the lid was forced on incorrectly at the factory, i'm assuming, but I can't use it. I'm very disappointed

As soon as I opened box I knew it would not fit 50 lbs. I opened one 36lb bag which is my usual size and it almost filled to brim. Which I’m not too upset about

Aired it out for 2-days before using and have now used for 2 weeks. Holds 34# bag of PPP. Opening is plenty wide for emptying bag and for maneuvering scoop while filling dish. Lid screws on/off easily, seems to seal tight, and since it doesn't crinkle like the bag, doesn't excite dog (as much). Was skeptical that it would really be useful, but we gave it a try (after it went on sale) but, find it works well for us. Nice add is ability to use a marker on it to write down feeding instructions.
