GF Pet Cloud Parka Dog Coat, Purple, XX-Small

I bought this mostly for ease of putting it on and taking it off of my older Shih Tzu, who has some arthritis. The velcro closure design of this coat means I don't have to raise his legs and put them through leg holes, which is easier on him. The coat seems warm. After he has worn it for even a few minutes, when I take it off, the sherpa lining is nice and toasty. The first time I put it on him, I was afraid it was too small, until I realized the material is stretchy, so you pull on it to be able to close the velcro under the dog's belly. This is good because it keeps the coat snug. I really like that it has a slit where I can pass the rings from his harness through it to attach his leash. My dog needs to wear a butterfly harness to prevent pressure on his trachea, so it's crucial that he be able to use his own harness, not a ring on the outside of the coat, which would be prone to pulling on his neck. This coat design allows me to use his regular harness underneath, which is key because the harness wouldn't fit over the puffy material. Although the coat seems to be the right size for him overall, the back part (towards the tail) doesn't extend as far as I would have expected. A lot of his back end isn't covered, and I don't consider him to be an unusually long dog. My one additional very small complaint is that the tag inside the coat is extremely long, and it's sewn in in a location where it hangs down across the velcro strip when you're trying to put the coat on. This prevents the velcro from being fastened securely in that spot (and leads to the tag hanging out). The solution is to tuck the tag upwards before fastening the coat. This is doable, but in my opinion, a different placement for the tag would be better. Overall, a very good purchase that I would recommend.
