Wood not stained enough to keep from turning moldy from spilt water

Wood is not water proofed which it needs to be. My dog gets water on it all the time and I had to stain it myself to prevent mold. Also, unit is not nearly sturdy

Wood is not water proofed which it needs to be. My dog gets water on it all the time and I had to stain it myself to prevent mold. Also, unit is not nearly sturdy enough for a medium to large dog so I had to tie a 25 pound weight to it to keep dog from knocking over!
