Can I remove the center foot? My gate sits higher since I didn’t want to attach it to my molding. How can I remove it without breaking the gate?

Where is this gate made? What kind of wood?

The opening we need to gate is 58 inches from post to post on a outdoor staircase. I'm reading that the wood contracts when wet. With only 2 inches to spare on a 5 for gate, should I go up a size? If there is too much extra length does it weaken the gate?

Can you adjust the gate to touch the floor? My little dogs can crawl right through this, as pictured.

It works perfect it keeps Laddie where he is safe.

The way it is made Laddie doesn't try and jump it. Gates which have a straight bar across the top he will jump.
