The amount of food your dog needs will vary depending on breed, activity level, age and climate. Use our feeding chart as a guide, adjusting the quantity fed to achieve your dog’s ideal weight.

We suggest feeding twice a day, puppies more often. Provide fresh, clean water at all times. Regular exercise will help maintain a healthy body weight. Love, attention and tummy rubs should be given freely, as often as possible.

Pregnant/lactating females: increase intake by 50%.

Transition Instructions

It’s important to slowly transition your pet to a new food so their system has a chance to adapt to the change. The transition period should be at minimum, 10 days and could take upwards of 2 weeks, depending on your pet’s sensitivity to change.

  • Day 1 & 2: Feed 80% of your pet’s old food with 20% of the new food
  • Day 3 & 4: Feed 60% of your pet’s old food with 40% of the new food
  • Day 5 & 6: Feed 40% of your pet’s old food with 60% of the new food
  • Day 7, 8 & 9: Feed 20% of your pet’s old food with 80% of the new food
  • Day 10 & Forever: Feed 100% new food

I followed the feeding guidelines on your packaging, but my pet is too fat/thin. Why?

Feeding Guidelines are simply a place to start. You should increase or decrease the amount you feed based on your pet’s activity level and weight.

Are the ingredients used in Petcurean products “human-grade”?

All of our fresh meat and meat meal ingredients are sourced from animals passed fit for human consumption by the CFIA. The fruits and vegetables used in our recipes also come from the human food chain. We do not, however, claim that our ingredients are “human-grade”; once an individual ingredient leaves a “human-grade” processing facility and enters a “pet food” processor, the ingredient loses its “human-grade” classification.

What is an organic ingredient?

A certified organic ingredient provides a guarantee that the ingredient has met strict government standards for how food is grown, handled and processed; using organic agricultural methods. Organic agriculture focuses on farming practices that encourage soil and water conservation and regeneration, and reduces pollution. Organic farmers use natural fertilizers and pest control methods to benefit the soil, plants and animals for a healthy environment.

Where are your products made?

Our SPIKE Jerky Treats are manufactured in Gainsville, Georgia and our SPIKE Treat Bars are made in Brampton, Ontario. We are 100% China free for processing and ingredient sourcing. Great for fur regrowth

    By on

I recently adopted a 17lb French bulldog / terrier mix. She was a backyard breeding nightmare and surrendered covered in Dem. Mange. Although she had been recouping in foster care for a few months prior to me adopting her, she’s still missing some fur. I have noticed a tremendous difference since switching her to this food. She’s not scratching and there’s new growth on her coat. In full disclosure, I’ve also been giving her rice water treatments, but I’m confident the food is really helping her. All my friends can see a huge difference in just a month and a half of having her and feeding her this food. I highly recommend.

    Dog seems to like it

    By on

New food for our pit, she has many skin issues and loves the food so far. We hope it works!! Had her on Royal Canine veterinary skin formula, very expensive. This is more reasonably prices and very close in ingredients. Have to give Chewy major Kuddos for how they are handling shipments and customer service at this time. Everyone please stay safe!!

    Great for pitbulls

    By on

This food has been good for my pitbull that has had skin issues . She seems to do better on a salmon base diet than beef or pork or chicken which irritate her skin . And this food has some good ingredients better than most dog foods. Salmon is great for the pitbull breed

    Dogs like it

    By on

The dogs like it so I guess that's what really matters. It has good ingredients AND has grain... now that the vet has said to stay away from grain-free. This one of the very few limited ingredient with grain foods I can find.

Switched our lab from Now! Fresh to Go a few months ago. Just changed him from a grain free to a grain formula after talking with our vet. Very happy with this food so far, and the shipping was crazy fast!

My dog tends to just gobble up his food and not even chew it. Since we switched to this one, he actually chews it! So, he must love the flavor. As far as his skin, he tends to have irritations to his paws. In combo with this product and a few others, we seem to be ahead of these irritations. Chewy, please keep this one stocked because I am going to be buying every month!
