Instructions
- Choose a door that is the most convenient for you and your dog to get outside fast.
- Record an outside message on the mat /transmitter. Be sure the message is same thing you want your dog to hear when exiting the house such as Gotta potty or go outside.
- Record the same message on the receiver.
- Place the Gotta Potty mat on the pathway to the door about 20 ft away and cover with mat or rug.
- Watch for triggers that your dog gives before using the bathroom such as sniffing, circling, or wondering out of the room you are in. If you feel as though your dog may need to go outside walk the dog over the Gotta Potty mat. (Use leash if needed) When the dog hears the recording continue to repeat the outside message while leading the dog outside. Once outside walk your dog around saying Go Potty until your dog goes and praise with treat. If your dog does not go within 5 min take back inside and try again at a later time. If your dog walks over the Gotta Potty mat on their own, continue to repeat outside command and lead your dog outside. (Use leash if needed)
- Use repetition to help with conditioning. In addition to step 5 walk your dog over the Gotta Potty mat at least 10 times per day and lead your dog outside.
- After 5 days start to move your Gotta Potty mat closer to your exit door. Move the mat 3 feet and repeat steps 5, and 6.
- Continue to move the Gotta Potty mat closer to the door in 3 ft intervals every 5 days until the mat is at the desired location.
- Once your Gotta Potty mat is at the door your dog should be hitting it to go outside on their own. If your dog is not triggering the mat at this point move Gotta potty mat back to your starting point and repeat. Some dogs will take longer than others.
Things to keep in mind: 8-16 week puppies do not have the same control as an older dog so you may need to take things a little slower. Each dog is different so be patient and consistent. Another mat may be used if the dog has a problem area that they keep going to. By placing a second Gotta Potty mat in the path of problem area, you will be alerted before your dog has an accident inside.

I'm hoping I just received an old one.
Package was faded and yellowed. Didn't realize it had the option to use 2 mats. I don't really need both, but Mat #1 didn't work there was a very loud cracking sound
Package was faded and yellowed. Didn't realize it had the option to use 2 mats. I don't really need both, but Mat #1 didn't work there was a very loud cracking sound and you could barely hear what you recorded. I used Mat #2 no big deal except I don't know if sound is supposed to come out of both speakers. Worked okay enough until today when it seems I can't get Mat #2 to work, but seems #1 is still in the same bad condition? I'm not sure. I am going to test it some more to see if I can get it working enough for now. I am going to buy another one and hope it is not all old and hopefully works properly. And return this one after I have the new one if I can get it to work at all to hold us over while waiting and still training. Try another new set of batteries etc. If the concept is working seems like yes I would recommend this item, but if it's old and parts are all worn out then no I would not recommend it. We will see. I'm sure I will be back to update this review.

This is the best thing that has come along to house train your dog. We had some questions so we called the manufacturer/inventor. He answered all of our questions and we got started. There has not been one accident in the house since Gotta Potty. We always know when she needs to go out. Best investment we have ever made. Great product. Great Customer service. Thank you.
Awesome product
I purchased the Gotta-Potty because my dog was having trouble telling us when she needed to go out to go to the bathroom. This worked so well, we used our own voice
I purchased the Gotta-Potty because my dog was having trouble telling us when she needed to go out to go to the bathroom. This worked so well, we used our own voice on the recording which made it so fast and we were able to communicate with our dog instantly with our voice and now our dog gets outside in time. We no longer have to clean up poop &pee. I recommend this product for dogs of all ages who have issues with have issues with potty training as getting outside I time.

I have used Gotta Potty with some of them, and the results were much quicker than I expected. Thank you for such an amazing product! Very HIGHLY recommend!!
