Best Orchard Grass on Chewy
This grass is perfect for my guinea pig! The other bags by Vitakraft and Oxbow were full of sticks and stems recently. They also cut them too small for my Betsy
This grass is perfect for my guinea pig! The other bags by Vitakraft and Oxbow were full of sticks and stems recently. They also cut them too small for my Betsy to eat. That's not a problem with Grandpa's Best. This grass is perfectly cut, leafy and dark green. Betsy digs right in and keeps eating until everything is gone. We're certainly buying again.

If my girls had thumbs, they would go up for the Grandpa's Best hays. I have purchased both the loose orchard hay as well as these compressed bales a few times
If my girls had thumbs, they would go up for the Grandpa's Best hays. I have purchased both the loose orchard hay as well as these compressed bales a few times. The quality of the different put-ups have been equal; you just have to make sure to fluff up the compressed hay after pulling off a flake the same way you would from a horse-sized bale. Each time, the hay has been soft and green and about as dust free as can be expected from a dried grass product. It smells fresh, too. My pigs get some coastal bermuda hay from the feed store as the base of their haybox. I add handfuls of timothy and orchard hays to give them variety--they eat all three, so I think they enjoy being able to munch on the different types.

Winter grass is shorter so more of it falls to the floor to be wasted. If you have a problem with the shorter blades, stock up in the summer and fall and store it properly for winter use.

Premium quality orchard grass hay. I used to buy another brand until Chewy accidentally sent me Grandpa’s Best and I’m very happy they did. My rabbit is 9 years old and picky about his hay he doesn’t eat “dead” brown hay and this brand is 99.9% green. Good stuff.

This is the best hay. I have used Oxbow for years and my 6 guinea pigs love this and so do I. They don't waste this like they do the other brands. The compact packaging
This is the best hay. I have used Oxbow for years and my 6 guinea pigs love this and so do I. They don't waste this like they do the other brands. The compact packaging of the hay is great. But it is out of stock right now so I hope Chewy gets it back in soon!
