As soon as I opened the box, my little Queen, Licorice, went nuts! She loves this hay. When I began fostering her, she barely touched hay; she'd been accustomed to pellets. I began weaning her off of the pellets but the hay I had, she'd nibble here and there. I decided to try this hay and so glad I did! Now, she cannot get enough of it and has lost interest in pellets (save for the occasional pellet treat).
Lack of Consistency
I bought one 20 lb box of this orchard grass and it was great - green, fresh. The second one I bought was sub-par - lots of dead hay. Mostly brown hay. I won’t buy

I won’t buy again from them since I won't know of I’m getting. Waste of money for a large box, or even for a smaller one that could be more expensive for the amount you get.
Less 'toothpick'-like pieces than other hays.
I had tried timothy and alfalfa hays for my tortoises. I had a couple of unexplained deaths and suspect that the hard sharp pieces might be a problem. This is fresh,
I had tried timothy and alfalfa hays for my tortoises. I had a couple of unexplained deaths and suspect that the hard sharp pieces might be a problem. This is fresh, smells good, and they eat it more readily. And it is all blades, no stems. It is not a favorite food, but they like it better than the others.
