Soft hay (no more hay poke!)
We had to switch from Timothy hay, to orchard grass hay because our pigs kept getting hay poke. Not only is this softer hay and easier to clean up, it is easier than buying a whole bale and making a huge mess every time we feed them. Very happy!
Poor quality hay
First of all, $50 for 20lbs of hay is ridiculous. I only ordered it because the feed store I usually go to is temporarily closed due to Covid. You can get 20lbs for $15 or less. The package came in a single layered box without any wax paper or plastic wrap over the hay. There was an oil stain at the bottom, so I disposed the flake that was in contact with the stain. My bunny did not like this hay at all and he will eat anything. I ended up tossing the rest of the hay out, and week and a half later, there were tiny flies everywhere in my bunny area. Would not recommend!
Good stuff!
This hay is for a very picky, field collected hingeback tortoise. The only thing she seems to enjoy is fruits, which is not an ideal diet. I simply layed a bed of hay inside her enclosure and sprayed it with a mist of water, she immediately started to nip at the hay! I'm so glad to see the results. Also, the hay smells delicious. It truly has a pleasant fruity aroma. Also a 5 lb box goes a long way. Highly recommend!
Comparable to Oxbow
The box it comes in is easier to store on a shelf than Oxbow's packaging. The hay itself smells nice and didn't have much brown at all. My gremlins approve.
