Try it once in case your pets enjoy it (but mine didn't).

My guinea pigs have never had this Grandpa's Best Prairie Hay before, so I wanted to try the hay out. I was a little bit concerned about the packaging of the hay since it's supposed to be closed with a twist tie, but my bag was open when I received it (though the bale was still held together by two straps). Even though the hay looked OK (i.e., not exposed to any elements or other creatures), I was careful to inspect it before I put it in the cage for my piggies. The hay reminded me of dried grass cuttings from your lawn as it was just yellow leaves cut very short/small (since this is a mini bale). Pretty soft since there were no stems. But my piggies only ate a few leaves before they ran away, so although the hay seems fine, my piggies didn't enjoy it, and I probably won't buy again (at least not for my current piggies).

This product was a great quality, just like everything we’ve gotten from Grandpa’s best, but our buns were not fans of the prairie hay. It’s shorter strands and softer than Timothy or orchard hay.

Good quality but...

Sadly my bunnies won't eat this like their other grass. They let it sit in their feeder. I'll keep trying and mix it more with other grass.

Only organic hay I can find for my chickens!

Great product, only wish I could buy in bulk.

Opinion uncertain.

My rabbits refuse to eat this. I don't know whether it's because of the hay quality (hay can go bad and moldy) or due to disliking the taste, but they ignore it

My rabbits refuse to eat this. I don't know whether it's because of the hay quality (hay can go bad and moldy) or due to disliking the taste, but they ignore it and wait till I give them some other type of hay, such as timothy, orchard or meadow. This is the only time they have ever refused hay. If your rabbits like prairie hay, consider it. But if they have never had it before, make sure you some some other kind of hay as a backup in case they turn up their nose.

Smells great, but...

None of the piggies or bunnies seem to like it. Smells like sweet tea to me. My bunnies are picky, but I was surprised the piggies did like it. Maybe the goats
